I finally found a resistor to match this one but geez 60 bucks? Any leads on a cheaper one?
@williamogilvie6909Ай бұрын
You didn't screw down the transistors!! I haven't watched the whole video and hope you didn't blow those $$$ expensive parts. They need to contact your Copper heat spreader, with just the tiniest amount of thermal compound between the transistors and the Copper. And screwed down, but not too tight!!!

in your video, you said 'key it'. what exactly did you do? I do not see an rf in hooked up but you used a dummy load. how did you do this?
@abitofeverything99703 ай бұрын
He put power to it, not actually driving it with rf. The bias current - the idle current he is measuring

Hi: I like your videos and the quality of your builds. What kind of material do you use for the transformer connections panel ? the one in the video is a red color fiber panel ? Where I can buy that material ? please advice. Thanks.

I didn’t know the way to read the MFJ was to interpret X as inductive reactance and varying R as capacitive reactance. Thank you! Question: can it read capacitive reactance as a -j number in “advanced” mode?

Are these devices sourced from AliExpress or somewhere similar? I am asking as I do not see NXP on these. If yes, what's your experience with these suppliers? BTW, like your neat construction technique.73's

How much of that 2kW is lost through the filter in your HF amp?
@KF8OD1 Жыл бұрын
If your lpf is absorbing energy on the fundamental freq then your filter is not tuned properly.

@davidshapiro5616 Жыл бұрын
Mike, I saw in your other video with the single ART2K that you saw 2kW at only 53V which I thought was impressive. Is the output of this dual 2K limited by the current output of your PSU or did you strap two supplies together and have you seen the magic 4kW?
@KF8OD1 Жыл бұрын
The power supply was only good for 60a. I never pushed them that hard.

sorry for commenting 5 years after the post. I'm wondering if a threaded connection in a copper bar is considered reliable for fastening e.g. cable lugs. Reliable mechanically and electrically.

@@KF8OD1 wow, thank you for the feedback. Last question, though: would steel bolts be ok for this or should one use copper ones? I am a physicist working in the industry since not so long. Electrical and mechanical engineering are not my forte at this level of detail.

A nano vna would make your tuning even easier. The abity to see it directly on the smith chart and see if it's + or - johms and not just inductive reactance

Hi. I like your works very much. I am also a HF builder (homemade!!). I have a 2 x MRFX1k80H amp in the works. I can't find TC 24 cable. Can you help me with a source to buy this cable?? I do not want from the Chinese people!!! Good day!! YO8WTW, 73!!
@KF8OD1 Жыл бұрын
I am not sure what tc-24 cable is? I use tc-18 on this amp. this can be bought from communication concepts.I went back and I found the tc-24 reference, you can use any 50 ohm small coax on the input. rg-316 or anything.
