Gaara is the only kid, besides Naruto, but he was the kazekage, and protected by his village, but Deidara baited him into a fight in the air. Naruto is still a genin, and the Third was his defender, after he's death Jiraya took his role as protector. It is also possible that the Akatsuki is always seeking times when they can catch the Jinchuriki off guard or alone.
