Good job but wood of been cooler if you actually showed how it came apart. Iv took all the skrews out from the bottom and roof top and it's still not coming apart.

If you look at the 4th picture in this video you will see he's putting a screw back in to the underside of the Nutcracker suite. I think I counted 4 screws. You need a long screwdriver, flip the piece over on it's roof. Look all the way down the small space between the theatre & the gear platform. You will see 4 ( I think) screws that need to come out. Then the wood top 1/2 will separate from the mechanical platform.

My figures weren't moving i opened the bottom and replaced the belt now the only thing that comes on is the lights on the stage no music no movement I checked to see if I broke a wire I can't find anything..what do you think?

Take it all apart again & look to see if the gears jumped the track

The scenes repeat twice but the music is different each scene for 8 scenes then shuts off.

If you look at the video, I think its the 3rd picture. You see me take a screw out from the bottom that goes to the roof. I don't recall how many screws hold the roof on.

I just bought a used one for 20 bucks and it runs great but the lights seem dim. I know you didn't do any electrical on yours, but do you have any idea if it's possible to replace the 3 bulbs that light the vignettes?

Yes they can be replaced but I recall they are a strange voltage. Burt what's causing the diming is the contacts for the lights are dirty.

How did you get the top off? I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get into mine but there’s no obvious screws or anything...

Pop the top piece off the dome, it's glued on. Be careful not to scuff the wood dome. Pry it off with a flat screwdriver use a towel or something to keep the screwdriver from scuffing the wood dome. Underneath this cap is a nut that you must unscrew to lift the dome up. I think you will find three wood screws on the base that hold the walls of the dome on as well.

Thank you so much for replying! When you say “pop the top piece off” are you referring to the brown and gold round medallion that sits at the very top of the roof?

Yes, it's glued on. Under that is a nut you have to take off.

Also you will see small screws on the underside of the roof. They have to come out as well as the main screw under the cap you should pry off.
