I feel like the further on the movies go, the less and less interesting the xenomorphs become. This is probably why the rumored "Alien 5" is allegedly going to ignore Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection and just continue off from Aliens.

The Reasonable Extremist Don't get me wrong, I do like several of the expanded mythos like how in Aliens they behave like a colony (thus emphasizing that they aren't mindless and that they can organize as a group) as well as in Alien 3 where it shows that xenomorphs have their bodies influenced by the host of their facehugger. However, I agree that they should still keep some mystery about the aliens like how exactly they came into existence (perhaps a vague answer). In all honesty, I'm more interested in how they would translate the franchise into other forms of media than I do with more movies. For instance, I liked how they did video game transitions such as the excellent alien isolation (I still find it amusing on how after a highly hyped and anticipated but ultimately bad game that was colonial marines was quickly followed up with a not as hyped but great game that was isolation). It was a different form of expressing the story that made it unique and fun to experience.

Resurection wasnt bad. It was no Alien or Aliens, but the xenos looked badass and the AlienSapien newborn was a nice edition to the lore.

Mr H Reviews At last, some supporters of the ballsy-brave Alien 3: "ballsy-brave" because it dared to treat it's main carry-over characters as mortals rather than impossible-to-proceed-without "icons" like the cowardly Star Trek franchise (though Ressurection ultimately wimped-out). If only Brandywine and Fox would get Fincher to supervise an ultimate cut, with the rod-puppet "runner" footage digitally value/contrast corrected and re-matted in... Alien 3 would be near-perfect.

i think the acid blood doesn't flow near the impregnation organ so if the host bites down they wont get a face full of acid killing the host. it also feeds the host with oxygen working like lungs so that might be the reason.

Cool video. I love Alien/Predator content. If you want to up the quality though, don't be afraid to re-say lines if you feel they weren't punchy, then edit out the worse one in post. Also careful grammar in the vid titles would help boost the quality. I just noticed that in both this and the Predator one you put an apostrophe in the title where there wouldn't be one (no apostrophes for plurals). Minor detail I know, sorry, but if you want to be the best channel you can, do consider these things too. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your vids. Keep it up!

I remember in the prediter vs aliens game on the snes, they took on the traits of what ever they face hugged, be it bats, dolphins, and even supper man (when he had a crossover into their world and got face hugged... he was around a red sun, got back to earth before it burst out of his chest, he puked it up since it couldnt claw out from the inside, and then he locked it away in a special room so it would never become a super queen alien with fails safes to kill it if he died or his fortress breached)

Billy Berigman Just imagine if Superman was still under the red sun and the chestburster successfully burst out and killed the man of tomorrow. Even worse, there would be an violent and aggressive monster with superman's powers (though it makes me wonder how a xenomorph would shoot lasers if it has no visible eyes (if we go by the hidden skull underneath the dome, would the lasers shoot through the dome?)). In fact, it would be the most powerful and terrible xenomorphto exist. Better hope people would have kryptonite. That'd be the most reliable way to stop that xeno.

Fun fact, the only reason why aliens look different in every movie is becouse of the movie direction. James Cameron say that he wanted the aliens look different than in 1st movie. People later come with this drone and warior thing.

Black Widow - I agree! Let's be honest. When these movies came out there was no lore; no thought into its height, weight, life span, etc. It was simply... Ridley Scott wanted his Alien to look like it did in his movie. James Cameron wanted his aliens simplified because the people in suits needed to be more agile and he stated that we wouldn't see the detail on film anyways. The rest started becoming more CGI and tweaked by the movie developers. I'm not sure where all this information about the genealogy of the Xenomorphs are coming from. I'm assuming it's fan created and not by the movie makers themselves, for the most part.

I once had the Aliens special edition and in it the special FX team actually made a copy of the original alien head but when James Cameron saw it he told them to scrap it because the hard plastic dome would easily crack in all the action scenes to be filmed. The new alien head design was made of foam latex and was designed specifically to handle abuse while filming action scenes.

Good vid as always but I have to point out a major cannon point left out. The predalien from AVP: Requiem has a trait that we have not seen from any other xenomorph we have seen (also not sure personally in the expanded universe if this is the case) but it possessed the unique ability to implant alien embryos and even multiple ones at that into hosts. I'm surprised this was omitted.

Back in the early 90's Kenner Toys released a really cool line of Alien action figures depicting such Xenomorphs as the Gorilla, Mantis, Killer Crab, Night Cougar, Snake and Panther. There was also Queen Face Hugger action figure. But none of that is really canon...

Scariest bit from any of the Alien sequels for me was that bit in Resurrection where the survivors had to swim through a flooded part of the ship, and then looked behind them and saw those xenomorphs swimming after them. Just the way they moved and the way they emerged from the underwater gloom was very freaky.

I have a theory to connection of the Deacon and the alien king so bear with me it is hypothetical. both have blue hue to there carapace. so theory is Deacon is stage one to eventually becomes the king. with alien covenant the neo morphs are supposed to have a smoke hue carapace but in trailer we see a drone so far not saying the neomorph won't show but with the Deacon and king theory of both blue it's the only clue thus far in linking both forms. please help solid this theory.

+Colin Brouillette that theory could Make sense, but it does hinge on the covenant stopping by LV223 first before heading to paradise, otherwise the deacon wouldn't be able to get to the planet the movie is set on. Difficult to know yet if that'll happen, but speculatively that makes sense until we get more info :)

+StokerGamer unfortunately not, with the presence of a predator at some point can definitely say not canon. Ridley Scott has no interest in blending the universes sadly, its likely a what if scenario like aliens versus predator and falls out of canon. The deacon as far as we know isn't actually in the conventional xenomorph life cycle so didnt include it :) this video needs changing anyway as the predalien is no longer canon either lol

The Alien from A3 incidentally did shed it's skin (malt). There is a scene with a convict (forgetting his name) picking it up in the air shaft. On a side note, while the theatrical release wasn't too great, the director's cut is genuinely a great movie; at least I thought so. But hey, I enjoyed Alien 4, so what do I know lol.

How does anyone canonically know that eggs can lasts for hundreds or thousands of years? According to Prometheus the entire species is like twenty years old by the time of the original film.

+Fallout Junkie Prometheus doesn't have any original xenomorphs at all, from alien it was stated they had been there for thousands of years due to the fossilizing, they can retcon that sure, but by aliens they have still laid dormant for another sixty years between alien and aliens so I say it still stands up, could be wrong though :)

@Mr H Reviews you missed out that the pred alien can impregnate creatures but from what i have seen it only went after the female of that species but also puts multiple eggs or embryo inside the host. But it also can control the aliens born from facehugers instead of from it impregnating the victim like a queen i kinda have watched the film quite a few times lol and have noticed things. i still hope there is another sequels as they had the predatores energy canon that was converted to a gun when it was damaged.

I am glad hicks from aliens is still alive and I know people will say he isn't. aliens colonial marines is a cannon and a sort of sequel takeing place after alien 3. play the game and the dlc stasis interrupted it explains how Hicks survived.

+herbet son yeah, not too sure if its canon yet, it was a licensed game sure, but its dependant how the studio want to progress they might separate the movie and game universes. I hope he is alive though, great character!

If there was a common enemy or other reason to do so could a Queen or the Queen Mother order her hive to not attack Humans? To even help them fight the common enemy? Similar to the Flood in Halo 3 but then of course instantly turning against Humans once the common threat was gone.

Is a praetorian canon, because they fit in very well in the queens life because there the queens head guards, and if a queen dies, they will fight for the roll of the new queen.
