I have a question to ask of you Aliens experts: Is there any evidence of the Xenomorphs ever having higher intelligence? I mean like, having the ability to produce technologies and to leave their homeworld as a spacefaring species?

I know this question is years old lol, but in one of the books, a queen was captured and contained and actually bullied into giving control of her drones and warriors by threatening her eggs. I reckon it takes a respectable level of intelligence and comprehension to be blackmailed. The xenos were able to learn how to pick up and even fire guns but this was abandoned as they apparently had hilarious bad aim lol. This was over a decade ago but that's my best recollection of them displaying intelligence. But if you want movie canon, Ripley also held a queen and her underlings at a stalemate by aiming a flamethrower at some eggs. The queen even had the drones back off. 3rd movie I believe. And in resurrection, the 3 xenos in containment learned that red button gassed them pretty bad when they broke out, instead of just killing that scientist, they specifically chose to hit him with that freezing gas, which I'd call a pretty clear act of revenge. You need some level of intelligence to retaliate in a way identical or similar to the way you'd been harmed. So I'd say yeah, they're intelligent. But not human level, maybe a couple steps up from animals like elephants or dolphins.

As far as a movie goes I personally think that telling this story would only be successfully pulled off if done as an animated film. The CGI costs to produce a film featuring xenomorphs such as were seen in Alien Covenant would be far to great and the fans would likely see anything of a lesser quality, using cgi such as seen in Alien 3 for example, would simply be disappointing. A well done animated version could be a great addition to the universe and something most fans would likely enjoy watching.

The way I like to think of it is that Xennomorph Prime is dominated by the Black Xennomorph and the planet has multiple moons that are dominated by Xennomorph of othere colors. For simplicity, I've named the moons Xennomorph Omega, Xennomorph Alpha, Xennomorph Delta, Xennomorph Betta. Xenno Omega = Home to The Red Army (Red Xennomorph) Xenno Alpha = Home to the Yellow Legion (Yellow Xennomorph) Xenno Delta = Home to a less intelligent version of the White Xennomorph. Xenno Betta = Home to the Xennomorph from the prequels that no one likes for some reason. In case anyone is wondering, the yellow and white Xennomorph are also like the ted Xennomorph and tried to rebel but ended up going extinct. The white ones were a hybrid of humans, Xennomorph and predators and possed a galactic threat to all three species. (If i remember correctly). See, I write stories as a hobby and then enter them into contests. I'm currently working on one that expands the Alien franchise by adding this idea. I'm curious though, is it good or will I ruin it like the prequels did?

I remember reading about another similar story that was put out by Dark Horse Comics where the Red Xenomorphs were used and also a paperback produced by Bantam Books that involved the Android version of Ripley leading a group of rouge Colonial Marines on a mission to obtain Royal Jelly from an Alien Queen and there two factions of Xenomorphs fighting each other. One group was Red and the other the Black Xenomorprhs. I would love to see the Red Xenomorph featured in a movie.

i think u got the 2 stories mixed up.the android ripley and the rouge marines were first story but it was to capture a royal queen and bring it to earth and set a bomb underneath her so most the aliens would gather around her eventually the bomb goes off.that novel was called "female wars" out of aliens omnibus.the second one is when they discover a drug that can be made from the alien,then they send marines to get royal jelly and thats where the alien civil comes in.that novel was called genocide
