I had a MRI scan for my brain one time I didn't know why it was hard to deal with I was very scared I was only a little girl at that time I didn't know or couldn't understand these noises are for but now I know what these noises are for but also now I'm learning how to get over the fears of having A MRI scan I am very proud of myself for not giving up

I have to get brain MRI's every 6 months due to a meningioma and will eventually stretch out to every 2 years for the rest of my life...I'm just grateful that I am not claustrophobic at all, I fall asleep half the time and imagine I'm blasting off to space the other half 🎉

@@fishingfan1500 ive done one where i was diagnosed with ms so ill have to do one every 6 months at least. Thankfully I closed my eyes and got lost into the sounds, sometimes I was beatboxing and feeling like I was at a rave party,lol. So weird but I really hope I am that comfortable with the rest scans Ill have to do.

Everybody on Earth loves hearing me do a capella impressions of MRI sounds; I merely adapted my human beatbox skeelz to this new endeavor. I'm trying to shop an album of nothing but me making MRI sounds to major record labels now with... mixed success. But I'm still working on it. My artist name is Mr. MRI, so be checking the 99ç bargain cassette barrel at your local Valuehaus!

This is so helpful. I should be able to be awake for any scan I have to do now and handle it. It helps Me as I am super sensitive to loud noises- the all Of a sudden noises that jump right out in front me like a fire alarm or MRI sound. This is so helpful

You are very right. I don’t think I am as afraid of the scans anymore. I mean of course depends if it is a closed bore or open but I think now I just wear the head phones for protection. But music would be a bonus

I believe they are required to provide ear phones/earplugs to help eliminate noise…… But I’m definitely with you as far as sound sensitivities is concerned. I remember one time when I had an MRI done, I was given a special pair of headphones, and I got to enjoy some steel drum music during the scan…… Imagining myself relaxing on the beach.

Wow thanks so much I learned so much! So cool how mri works I’m still amazed by it and it’s advanced technology. Why can’t they make a 3t stand up mri? What would happen to ur camera if u scanned it?
@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer
@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer Жыл бұрын
A stand-up 3T MRI would be the best. I imagine it is not the most cost-effective solution though. The Fonar stand-up MRI I work with is over twice the size of a conventional MRI and takes up a whole scan room just for the magnet. This FONAR is only 0.6T so I would think a 3T probably needs a dedicated hospital :) 3T MRI scanners are always tough to film because the fringe magnetic field extends so far out. Come to think of it, I'm sure there's a prototype out there. I'll do a little research and see if I can take some video.

one more question, actually 3. 1- what do gradient coils look like? 2- Why does the same sequence on different scanners sound different when they have the same gradient coil?? 3- what are the loudest sequences? and why so much louder? for example- DTI
@herlescraft
@herlescraft Жыл бұрын
1) fingerprints but around a tube 2) grandient coils difference in performance and sequences difference in parameters different t2 sequence might have many different sounds even when performed on the same scanner 3) from personal experience i'd say large FOV gradient echo images or extremely high resolutions gradient echo... basically whatever uses the most out of your gradients is bound to be noisy

I’ve had brain M.R.I myself and watched a video from this channel on heart M.R.I, I was wondering what causes the different noises between each scan? Is it frequency or that a different part of the body is being scanned?

If I ever have to have an MRI, they had better knock my butt completely out. Put me under general anesthesia and intubate me because I am not going to stay still for this. All these noises AND being confined in a huge tube?!?! This is a huge nope.

It’s so funny how people are so different. I really look forward to my MRIs when I get to have them. I find the noises and closed space to be super relaxing lol. I listen the the long sequence clip on this channel heaps when I need to chill out lol. I think I’m the different one haha

I think it’s funny that when I had an FMRI that a vitamin E capsule was taped to one side of my forehead. I was told that this was so left and right couldn’t get mixed up in case the images got flipped. This seemed like a very low tech solution in a multimillion dollar machine. Maybe the technician was just playing a practical joke on me.

Me too! I get intubated for them! But now I started Cognitive Behavior Therapy and I'm doing exposures. I lay on my back and listen to these sounds to practice what it will be like, and to make myself see that I could do it. Just stated and my MRI is in 6 weeks. Fingers crossed!
