+FPTH Off-hand zwei is crazy when you've got a fast main-hand! One thing I love about dual-wielding is that you can use granular and precise poise-damage to ruin their meta poise. Mace + Hand-Axe or Kumo + Curved sword breaks 55 poise!

Hey its II NightLord II and some dual wielding advice i got for you is to unlock and try to dead angle or try to catch people in mid roll to get some instability damage with your offhand. In addition you will be way less likely to be roll backstabbed. Aside from that your dual wield usage is pretty tight. Just remember to keep your combos fresh! We need to meet up again some time ive improved a lot in my medium roll build recently.

Velka's rapier is a fantastic offhand. It can parry and also has great backstab/riposte damage. I's a must-have for dex-int builds.

A fun dual wield setup I started doing was going full ninja. I started using it around the time I fought bed of chaos when I realized that my setup didn't matter at all. I equipped the shadow set, put the uchigatana in the right hand and the gold tracer in the left (this is for my dex build). The gold tracer can't parry, but it still has a really good move set in the left hand. For backup, I put the great scythe in the right hand and pyromancy in the left to use "fire jutsu" (switching pyromancy for a parrying weapon can also work). Obviously this means I couldn't block which is why I had to equip the darkwood grain ring. Once I got used to it, the setup actually became really fun to use and all the moves made me look super ninja-like. I still have to try it out for pvp though. If anyone reading this plays DS1 on the PC, maybe we could pvp.

from my experience with testing them most left handed attacks are actually pretty good. for most weapons they are usually arcing swings of some kind, except for spears and thrusting swords which keep their poke attacks. oh and halberd class weapons have an overhead slash similar to their running attack.

the max i can hold with weapons/shields and such is a total of 18.5 weight, i usually just say 18 because i almost always have a shield on. the poise with my wolf ring on is 53 exactly.

the way my build is set up i have 1 free ring slot. i can put on the DWGR and flip with any weapon combo up to 6 weight, or i can put on havels and fast roll with anything up to 18. if i dont have on either of those rings it will most likely be a leo ring that i have on. i do sometimes use the red tearstone, cloranthy, bloodbite, or steel protection. really i can use that second ring slot for whatever i feel like

well...you could go and min/max everything but i personally like to go with what looks good lol. mixing sets is usually a good thing, so just play around with a lot of the lighter armors until you find something you like. you only need 13 poise and a wolf ring, so keep that in mind too

What you said about the left hand weapon is true! I'm now using a 24 str 40 int build, now I know it's not the best but it serves my purposes pretty well, and with this build I use manus catalist in the left hand, and the L2 is just amazing, greataxe stun capacity, ok damage, and noone ever expects it!

Ive got a dual wielding build for months now actually and i really like how you have to change your playstyle if you want to effectively win. I mostly use it for the Burg and other friendly matches tho because gank hunting with my setup is pretty tough :l My main character is a dex/faith build with in the left hand an occult uchi with an off hand occult claw, in the right hand a +15 iaito with an off hand occult shotel and uses three miracles; Sunlight Blade, Replenishment and G.Greatsword Dance

what i meant by it being user friendly is that the more experienced players generally will parry, and will somewhat rely on it. when they do venture into dual wielding, they tend to keep weapons they can parry with. that's more or less what i was getting at when i said that.

I've been playing around with this, I like an off-hand rapier for quick pokes when your right hand weapon doesn't have them, a left-handed lifehunt scythe for shorter bleed weapons without the crazy horizontal strikes, and the silver knight spear (or demon's/dragon slayer I guess) when you feel you need that quick far reaching poke

I've found an effective combo is to have the Barbed Straight Sword offhand and a bleed weapon (my preference is any Katana) and just swapping between L1s and R1s to bleed up someone relatively quickly. It can bleed turtlers in addition to stunlocking BS fishers.

On my strength build when im in a fat rolling mood ive really enjoyed an off hand demon great machete + main hand golem axe. The wind blast is good for luring people in, attack with the DMG at medium range, and golom axe for trading hits + close range. Plus ultra greatswords have 44 stability :D

A fun little fact about your set up with ninja flippers is that if you L1 spam when they're going for the roll bs with the regular dagger, it almost always cancelled the backstab. I'm sure you probably already knew this though

I actually used this weapons configuration for my character on PS3 PTDE. Bastard sword +15 on left primary Pyromancy +15 glove left secondary SKSS +5 on right primary Estoc +15 right hand secondary Power within and Black Flame for Pyro. It's seems to be pretty effective. As long as I mask the switch between right hand weapons the person generally doesn't know which one I am running at a given time, and that bastard sword itself as this video says gives enough confusion as to what exactly it is, looking similar enough to SKSS. While I have Power Within I generally haven't needed to use it unless I want quick kills.

I will definitely make a quality build to try dual wielding. I'm thinking about using the partizan, or SKS as my main hand for their wide sweeping r2s and fair damage output. rapier/estoc as my offhand for parries and quick short pokes, with a zweihander, or MSGS as my off hand heavy hitter.

An off-hand spear is incredibly useful if you're using a main hand weapon that either has a short range or is slow. I really like left-handed crossbow as well, for as much as you could call that dual wielding. Left hand claw is neat, too. Dead angles and parries.

Skss 1hr2 + bastard sword l2 breaks 61 exactly, you can r2 first and then dead-angle the bastard sword so they're stunned and don't punish

Another similarly natural looking combo is right hand BSS with left hand Estoc, with Leo Ring of course. Leo BSS gets sorta boring, it's fun to space rolls well and keep the opponent guessing if a rolling poke, r2 or nothing at all is coming, but you can't do it too much and it gets a bit monotonous on it's own

A lighting/chaos dagger is good to parry with, you can parry do 1 hit with it, them do the repost atack.

any curved greatsword swings faster in the left hand at the cost of forward momentum, I like to run it with an estoc or other pokey weapon on the right. Another combo i love would be priscillas dagger in offhand for bleed and parrying and lifehunt on the right.

Off-hand curved swords is where it's at. Murakumo, scimitar, shadow mask, sage robe, knight's gauntlets and a nicely hidden soldier waistcloth + FaP & Wolf has been my favorite to play lately. Not only does it make aesthetic sense, i also happen to play like a ninja with those two weapons together haha

My PvP character was built to dualwield. I have no magic, but all 4 slots filled. In my right hand I have a Balder Side Sword and a Rapier. The balder side sword is my choise for just sparring and beating on eachother, but rapier is there for criticals, cause it has a hidden crit modifier. In my offhand, I have an estoc, longest range rapier in the game which has a fast parry animation and has a very nice poke. My 4th slot is crest shield vs magic, but don't use it to fight. REALLY strong.

The reason why I always have a weapon that can parry in my left hand is because if you don't you take parry out of your game. It's a lot harder to switch weapons and parry plus I carry a bow in my second left hand slot. Whips are amazing for dual wielding because if you know someone is going to try to parry you get a free hit.

To respond to the idea of using a parrying weapon in the off-hand: I dont think that is the case. Parrying is not really user-friendly in this game in general due to lag. However, my personal reason for using a parrying weapon is due to the fact I have rapiers and a hornet ring as an assassin build (inb4 flame: I dont backstab fish), however I do attack with both weapons all the time.

That is a really cool combo in my opinion. I tried the off-hand bastard before, I felt it had potential but I haven't really used it since, I should really pick it up again :D Also, did you know that the fast off-hand straight swords hit very fast and chain into the main hand weapons attacks beautifully. I suggest trying it out. Also, a weapon class that has a different off-hand attack, that not a lot may know about, are the curved great-swords, try it out 4get and you should be surpirsed.

In fact it doesn't relate to dual wielding : it's about some video of people that can do the R1 running attack almost instantly (most visible with uchigatana) and I think that's what you did at 0:42 ! I've seen phantomewgf video about instant dash but i've never managed to do it (in fact i don't understand the meaning of "strafe" Oo in my language it has 2 meanings.... )

since i recorded this i have developed a habit of going unlocked for swinging the bastard sword, and that leads to some easy dead angled hits and can be used to keep you from leaving your back open

Whip in left and darksword or any other sword in right is my favorite duel weild. Whip is always good to get a few attacks in and you can parry. I don't use weapons in my left hand that can't parry because I like parrying people. People tend to go crazy when you don't have a shield making it much easier to bait people into parries. Also most left hand attacks are terrible and will get you backstabbed.

That is very true, and that I entirely agree with. However, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that half the time either you get a parry or backstab, or you lose due to how centered pvp is on crits. XD

I've only so far had 4 online pvp encounters and the first one i just plain fair and square lost but the last 3 everyone of them they like waited to see if I would bow and then come charging the second I start of course killing me. I suppose if you're really at the very cusp of low weight those two pounds would make a difference. I wasn't able to wear the helmet for my EK set because it put me a pound over 25% and I couldn't utilize the DWGR.

Tracers are beautiful, I use them too but against high poise enemies they're completely useless, unless you poke with the dark silver for like 2 hours and the finish the job with the gold

Hey man, just curious, are you using a +15 heavy crossbow? I've never understand how elemental damage work on crossbows, on mugenmonkey it says that a fire crossbow +10 does 520 dmg, while a regular +15 does 405 (heavy bolts).. so which one is better?
