I Will Prevail - UK Tour - Wonderland - Natalie McQueen

Natalie McQueen and the cast of the UK Tour of Wonderland performing 'I will prevail'. I would just like to say I have no words to describe the talent of the two leading ladies in this production, Rachael Wooding and Natalie McQueen were a force to be reckoned with.
I DID NOT record this, found online and wanted to share and will take down if need be.
Rachael Wooding as Alice, Wendi Peters as the Queen of Hearts, Dave Willetts as Rabbits, Stephen Webb as Jack / White Knight, Natalie McQueen as Mad Hatter, Kayi Ushe as Caterpillar, Dominic Owen as Cheshire Cat, Ben Kerr as March Hare and Carolyn Maitland as Alternate Alice / Mad Hatter. They are joined by an ensemble comprising Sharif Afifi, Toyan Thomas Browne, Divine Cresswell, Jessica Croll, Francesca Lara Gordon, Benjamin McMillan, Bree Smith, Benjamin Yates and swings Lewis Easter and Collette Guitart.

She needed this level of performance in Wicked. if she give this during her time in Wicked she would 100% deserve the lead or a promotion.💚💚

Musical Audios This is a good performance and she did play the character well - I saw her in Birmingham. The only thing is that the last sections are in a lower key than the original, making it much 'easier' to sing. I think the ending of her other song 'The Mad Hatter' was also modulated down slightly (if I remember correctly) In Wicked, riffs are allowed by producers etc...but the lowering of the key for a song has not yet been allowed. McQueen has a good voice, but it does not have the power of a truly great Elphaba - hence there were no riffs in her performances and she was not made the lead in the role. I did enjoy her performance as The Hatter though - she was both bonkers and crazy!!!!

M Hill in my opinion riffs and score weren't an issue as to why I didn't enjoy her wicked performance. I feel she didn't appreciate the role she had and didn't seem bothered when she performed. It was very disappointing in that respect. I can still really enjoy a riff free performance but acting and just having effort on stage is obviously a massive thing. In this Audio she sounds a lot more excited to be on stage! Like you say she's crazy in this, she's enjoying her time and playing with her character!!!! (Sorry for the late reply)

While the lyric changes work better, I feel like it just doesn’t hold the same power that Kate Shindel’s original held. It might be because the key was changed but McQueen doesn’t make me feel threatened hearing this, which is a shame because she sings it beautifully

I saw it live about a week ago and she flipped from an E to an A in the very last note (though I think it was a first cover Hatter and not McQueen)

I was going to learn the lyrics of the Broadway version so partially hearing me had some idea what's going on, but I have no idea compared to the Shindle lyrics what is going on here so I probably won't bother. I hope there's a copy of the CD with these lyrics in the booklet, I assume these are mostly all changed for the songs? Unless it's just the fact it's a fellow Brit singing (who's accent I can't place) throwing me off. If someone could point me to these lyrics and lyrics for these changed(???) songs I would be most grateful and can hopefully enjoy the show a little better. Heck knows I can barely hear in these sorts of places anyway, at least I'd know the lyrics normally for this and One Knight.

When they try to change things to “improve them” and end up having the opposite effect. Come on. This was the strongest number on bway. And the cuts. WHY??
