Teflon tape on loose mast joint and boom fitting. Also Teflon tape on mast base to eliminate wear when swiveling. The Cunningham isn’t legal for racing. That grommet is to hold the mast pocket together and will easily rip out if pulled tight. Colored electrical tape works great to add color on hull and deck. Don’t stretch the tape and it stays in well.

Sir great video, I ordered my Laser with carry bag and stand today. Plan on using my RadioMaster for the TX and RX. Have been sailing my Dragonforce 65 for a few years but always wanted the laser. I sailed the full size laser and we would watch the lasers sail in Central Park. Jeff in LA USA

I’ve owned an RC Laser for three years now, and I learned a bit with your video. You did a wonderful job of clearly explaining every step. I was amazed by your clear explanation of all the details. Thanks Ron Annapolis, Maryland.

I enjoyed your video and comments. I was interested in learning about rc Laser, as I was invited by a local rc Laser club to participate using one of their loaner boats, and thought it would be good to learn about the boat prior to the invitation day sail. You did an excellent job. I'm feeling much more confident about this. Thank you.

@Kay's Cameras Hi Corky! Do you know of anyone selling a Laser? New ones are back ordered.

No I don't but if you check the RC Laser Sailboat - RC Groups channel they might be able to help. Here is a link: tinyurl.com/yckhknmr

@@MrKayFisher I settles on the Flysky FS-i6X 6-10(Default 6)CH 2.4GHz AFHDS RC Transmitter w/ FS-iA6B Receiver sold by RC Mall through Amazon. $50.99 before tax. It's a duplex transmitter; battery levels for both the receiver and transmitter are on transmitter display. I selected it due to the transmitter's popularity based on Amazon review quantity and the overall high review scores.

Great video! Are you still sailing the Laser in Phoenix? I am seriously considering one for myself.

Now that the weather is getting better - yes. But I'm in Maricopa, AZ not Phoenix. If your interested I have too many boats. I would consider selling. I'm at kaypatfisher@gmail.com

Thanks for the video. I also order the Laser back in July 2020. It arrived not in the best of conditions. Allow me to explain. My shipment cost was USD198.98 to Singapore (due mainly to weight X distance). The first problem was the packing that was the exact way as your video show, BUT, for such a long distance shipment, you would encounter damages. it need to be pack differently. Just email me and let me know there is extra cost but safer and I would gladly pay for it but they never did (Intensity Sail). I have a crease on the B-sail and a puncture hole which I had to patch up. There after during dry set-up, the keel post would not slip through the boat smoothly, I had to slowly file away the access. Further issues came when I tested the supplied rudder servo, it died after 10 minutes later. Fortunately, it was a dry test. Thereafter, I also swap out the sail servo and replaced and discover the marginal contact the rotating latch had on the servo. The looseness in the mast joints and the boom are common in Laser.

Wow - shipping is getting out of control. Sailed my laser yesterday. End the end I am sure you will enjoy your boat.

I couldn't believe my extra items were hanging out of the box, especially for over $100 to ship. Wish they were available from a west coast distributor, only one place to buy in the U.S.

Did you change the received when you changed the transmitter? Or use the one that came with the boat? Thanks
@MrKayFisher2 жыл бұрын
Yes I changed them both. I think the original receiver did not give back telemetry data whereas the new one lets me know the receiver signal strength and the receiver voltage.

After some sailing time, do you recommend any other size sails?
@MrKayFisher2 жыл бұрын
I still only have the standard B sail. Most of my sailing friends have both an A and a B. At least one friend has a C sail. Your needs would be dictated by the locations you end up sailing in. Here in a small man made lake in Arizona most of the time my friends are using their A sails and I can't catch them. I have never seen anyone use a C sail yet even though I know at least one fellow has one. The only reason I don't have an A sail is (1) the cost, and (2) I just want to keep things simple and don't want to have to decide which sail. So - yes I never win our informal races but I do enjoy the Laser. FYI I also only sail one boat when we go out to the lake so sometimes it is an "Emma" built from scratch from www.bearospaceindustries.com, sometimes it is a Wild Duck scratch built from www.sarikhobbies.com/product/wild-duck/, sometimes it is a Nirvana II, sometimes it is a Tugboat scratch built from plans at aerofred.com/details.php?image_id=97644, sometimes it is a Footy called "Footy Brando" scratch built from plans, design by Flavio Faloci Plans available from www.woodenboatstore.com. Videos of all the builds are on my channel. Thanks for watching.

Got Mine , did you add quick clips of some sort to clip on the lines?
@MrKayFisher2 жыл бұрын
No. I just have some over sized safety like pins that stay on the boom and fasten the loop of the lines to that.

The cover lid on mine split. Just sitting overnight ( never got to use the boat) . Emailed Intensity sails , they won’t send a replacement. Not bad for all the money I spent on this.
