Nice fish. That cast is a kind of semi double Spey?

It's a short double spey because of the rocks etc, you have to adapt your casting to the different environments that you are fishing in. There is demonstration casting and then there is fishing casting, one is for showing the technique the other is for dealing with sink tips, brass tubes,strong upstream winds and rough terrain.

Whats a good scandi for a 11ft switch rod? Plus have you used a Airflow rage line?

Unfortunately they don't make the AFS outbound anymore but the Barrio switch is good it's a full line not just the head so there is a nice transition when fishing and they will cast 10 ft polyleaders with ease as you can see in the video.

Hi Sergio, the trout and salmon fishing season is closed till next year but the rainbow trout fisheries are open and there are a few around to choose from. If you go to the Inland Fisheries website you will find some near you.

Did you notice a decrease in the number of salmon in recent years?

Hi Pat, there has been a noticeable decrease in the salmon population over the last twenty years but with the Lee being an unnatural river ( Dam ) most of the salmon were hatchery fish and stocked by the hundreds of thousands but this was reduced in recent years, why I don't know because as far as I know the Dam or ESB must stock it with about 250,000 smolt every year to off set the fish not returning once they move above the Dam. We need to do a lot more work to help the salmon population by cleaning and improving the spawning streams, educating new and old anglers on catch and release especially on coloured salmon and cutting down on poaching.

Would u ever use 2 salmon flies on ur cast on de lee

With great success especially in August and September when salmon are tired of seeing salmon flies I would use a size 12 dropper with a Wickhams fancy or Dunkelt on it and take fish.
