Makeup was a big part of my childhood. My grandmother and mother would always be shopping at the Jordan Marsh and Filene's makeup counters. As I got into middle school, my grandmother would let me pick one item of high end makeup every time I shopped with her at the mall, which was the best thing ever. The Avon lady would visit with my mother almost every week, and we also hosted Mary Kay parties, which was so much fun as a kid since I was allowed to join them as a guest. Starting in 6th grade, my friends and I were allowed to walk to CVS or another local pharmacy, where we started buying makeup constantly.

Hi Melanie! I have that master mattes palette in my Sephora cart! It’s so pretty and I have only two single eyeshadows right now. I’m so excited to try it! Laura Gellar has great makeup and I have several of her products including the foundation. I recently got Jane Iredale’s pressed powder foundation as hers was the very first foundation that got me hooked on powder foundation. I’m still the same shade I was 20 years ago. It’s such a wonderful powder foundation too! Truly looks like my skin with zero dryness. I’m so happy I took on your tip of using a translucent powder as a base to fill pores and keep you matte, that tip has been a game changer for me! Also, I remember my first makeup as a teen was Mary Kaye as my momma sold it at the time. Well she had a kit and used it, ever really sold it lol 😆. I can still remember the smell of their lip gloss and the cream blue eyeshadow my mo. Always wore. Ah memories 🥰. I wish I could get that lipgloss today I’d totally use it! 🫶🏼

That Laura Geller foundation is so good! It's such a classic! You will LOVE the Master Mattes! Honestly such a great formula. Very easy to work with and not too much fallout. Lovely pigment! But easy to work with at the same time. Totally worthwhile my friend!

Hi Melanie I have now been buying and playing with makeup for forty years😂. All through the eighties in my teens with the bright blue mascara and then my goth phase😂and onwards. I'm a rock chick and a biker so a smoky eye was my signature look for many years and I loved playing with makeup. In my fifties I still love makeup but I wear softer shades nowadays 😂. I have extremely dry rosacea and eczema prone skin so I wear makeup every day I leave the house, but I let my skin have a rest from it the days I'm home all day. My favourite products of last year are: Hourglass No28 primer - only for dry skin but it's smooth and holds in moisture to the skin Dior forever glow in shade 00 - I really struggle to find a shade match as I am ultra pale and cool toned, but this is my perfect match. It lasts all day with no powder and is a pretty semi radiant finish on my skin. Ilia skin tint - this was my light coverage favourite of 2024 after I adjust the shade (0.5 is light enough but too yellow and I mix in some purple to make it match). It's really pretty on dry skin but it does benefit from some powder in the t zone Dior loose lavender powder - lavender is far more brightening on pale skin than pink and also helps if something is a tad yellow. It's similar to the Hourglass ambient powder in that it has a slight glow which makes it work on dry skin. It's extremely finely milled. Bobbi Brown stick corrector - this paired beautifully with the Ilia or the Dior foundation for me. I have fairly minor darkness at the eye so this covered it enough for most days. It's an emollient formula so it's good for drier skin types. Dior forever concealer in shade 00 - provides extra coverage for my rosacea and can be used lightly under the eyes ( same perfect shade match) Em cosmetics little lilac liquid blush - I love a liquid blush and this colour was perfect RMS living luminizer - my highlight of choice all year Sephora eyeliners - stay in my tightline and are affordable Clio kill lash red cap mascara - BUDGEPROOF and works great for watery eyes. I had an issue for a few months with dry eye due to malabsorption gut issues ( it was a vitamin deficiency that caused it) and this mascara stayed on all day. It only comes off with eye makeup remover btw. Urban Decay backtalk was my most used lipstick of 2024 - it's my perfect nude Dior backstage cool neutrals was my most used palette of the year. It's very neutral on me and just easy to apply and wear There you go my most used makeup of 2024. Best wishes x

Actually I have and I didn't personally care for it. I found it to feel a bit too heavy on the silicone for me. It didn't sit quite right on my skin. It would be better for a dryer skin type I feel however.

My favorite makeup purchases this last year was the Kosas pink pressed powder and the Hourglass translucent pressed powder. They just make my pores look fabulous. Did you see Viseart has a pallet coming out?😊 I saw an ad on my IG and thought of you.

They are re-releasing the grand pro 1 again, right? Or is it another one... I am off to investigate. But the OG Grand Pro is a still a staple for me! So good! LOVE viseart!

I don't think I purchased a single makeup product in 24 other than mascara, foundation and powder. I tried the ilia skin tint at the end of the year, and really love it on dry skin or super minimal makeup days, but no matter what foundation I try, I always go back to Laura Gellar Baked Balance and Brighten. I have you to thank for mentioning it on your channel.

That's kind of amazing! It can be hard to avoid going crazy with makeup because everything is so fun with the bright colors and gorgeous packaging! Good for you Holly.

I still use my Laura geller on my easy days, when I’m feeling moisturized!….. I just purchased my first merit product. The minimalist stick concealer/foundation. I haven’t had a new foundation in forever (usually just use tinted moisturizer) and I miss my Lancôme stick. This is so good. Light coverage, not greasy, not drying, looks like my skin! I didn’t purchase much in the way of makeup in 24. A few lippies and a blush and that it cosmetics powder, (which is my favorite setting powder now!) I think that was all? Maybe? My brain doesn’t want to think. I have a habit of buying too many skincare products and fragrance😂

I tried that Merit stick a while ago. It actually was good! I liked it for concealing myself, not that I do much concealing.

@ I figured that’s exactly how I’d use it too, but it’s great for all over. It hides my broken capillaries, which is basically the only concealing I do. I’m glad it’s working and it’s still light, while the coverage is really decent.
