I loved the concept in this and how surreal the game progressively gets while still trying to be grounded. Some factual inconsistencies took me out a little, i.e. frozen pipes generally don't run at all, but the dev took a lot of care to make a really cool game.

Really? My home ec class told me you shouldn't try to run a frozen pipe because it might explode and flood the house- I always assumed the pipe must still at least run if that was a danger.

By "frozen pipe" in the game, it was in reference to a pipe that *had* frozen, partly burst, then was thawed at the time of the game. The game takes place in April, so it's not very likely that a freeze would occur so late, particularly as other calls give context that indicates that it is (Early) Spring.

​@@LizLuvsCupcakesI hadn't heard the idea of turning the water on being what causes a frozen pipe to burst (though it does make sense, in that it would build pressure in the pipe due to it trying to push the water through the blockage), but that there being stationary water in the pipe that CAN freeze is what causes a pipe to burst. Since water expands when it freezes, I've been taught that you should either completely drain water from pipes that are exposed to the freezing temperatures, or leave the attached outlet running slightly so that the moving water will create a non-freezing center that will keep it from bursting. Always interesting to see how instructions like that vary from one place to another. But glad to help!

Spoliers? Well, I don't know... but the prank caller sounds like a mouse. The "former employee" lives in a hole in the wall... like a mouse. Recent scientific findings suggest some mice have human like intelligence. _Finally_ ... the e-mail about "the hole isn't safe"? That eye looking inti the hole looks like the ginger office cat. Also, your supervisor is a bog witch (check out the making of the game stuff after you beat the game, it's on the game's desktop) who told you she took care of the prank caller. If you need more proof, go back and fail a day to get a/the bad ending.

Since you were confused about the leprechaun for so long, here's something I noticed: The kids' teeth might hurt because the leprechaun stole their braces while they slept. A creepy thought, but one that makes sense considering braces are made of high quality stainless steel. Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure the prank caller was just some guy using a modulator for those effects, the company tracked them down, and we hear them getting turned into a mouse. Just like how the player gets turned in the failure ending.

hey, if you have time, you should go back and play (or just... look up) the callbacks you get for failing a call, some are really spooky (: also, spoilers, but your answers for the plot points: . the guy making the prank call was just a dude with a voice modulator, he wasnt breaking into houses. the normal voice at the end is his real voice. someone (carol, likely) broke into HIS house and turned him into a mouse the guy sending you emails is the guy who had your job last, the one that people are complaining about getting bad advice from "last week". he was turned into a mouse. when "the hole" got found, he was eaten by whiskers the cat. there's details in the artbook about it, but in the bad end, you get fired and turned into a mouse. you may have noticed the mouse entry saying mice are "worthless" :o

I don't know what it is about this game, but it creeped me out more than most other horror games, even though it doesn't try that hard. Just the mere idea of some of these things existing makes me feel uneasy. Like that info about the kobolds - them sticking their heads out and whimpering to lure you in? And those false faces of the hobbs? Legitimately gave me goosebumps.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that was the answer he got wrong on the very first day. When that guy called about the grass being so tall it looks like a rainforest and his son having a headache. The kid got bit by a tick and has lyme disease. I know because that's what happened to me. I have dogs and I walk my dogs every single day. I got bit by a tick a couple years ago and got Lyme disease now I suffer from chronic inflammation and headaches that will never go away. There was literally only 20 cases of Lyme disease in my entire county for the last 30 years. Guess who's number 21 🙄 I suspect that was the answer it was trying to get him to give.

I think the first day you missed ticks for the caller who was talking about his son being sick. They had long grass and his son was really fatigued. Ticks live in long grass and you can get Lyme disease which has fatigue as a symptom
