What works for me, in pve standard diff, is combination of destroyers and immortals without weapon upgrade. Destroyers do shitton of dmg to the infantry while they can absorb quite some dmg and immortals are free to take on vehicles and buildings. The rest of the unit roster is more or less spice.

Sad, SD player did not have a good start, they over extended for no gain maybe the listening posts delayed the necros by 90 seconds. Big necron weakness is no high alpha AOE like vindicator in low tier, should have gotten more legionaries with plasmas or missiles or turrets. Very good necron play anyway.

I agree. I feel like in general, the majority of ig players (steel legion, imperial guard, krieg, etc) don't make enough infantry and then get overrun early game it it bites them in the ass later. Isn't that the point of guardsmen factions? More legionairs with more plasma and rocket weaponry to fire down range would have helped a lot. I think they try to rush to tier 2 or e too quickly and don't have a sufficient enough army to do anything. In the end those higher tier troops did not last long as they got cut off, surrounded, and killed. We also so little to no vehicals so should have gone all in on the cheap infantry anyways. I'm not trying to say the steel legion play is bad at all, they actually did very well (Necrons always ruin me), and it's not just them. Almost every cast with players playing some form of ig do not use enough tier 1 infantry and always try to rush to tier 2 or 3 and it just doesn't work. They lose 80% of the time.

With two players of equivalent PvP level, is it really possible for the Steel Legion player to ever win a game other than by luck ? I feel like the Steel Legion is too weak at the moment. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen them win a game from all the games I've watched.

Yes. It is very possible for them. Both of us were new to the respective factions we played and made a bunch of mistakes. Over the past 2 weeks since this game was played we have both radically improved at these factions. SL is in an alright position. Guard factions in the mod will typically have a rough match up with Necrons t1

@@csabipapo ehhh. I should have not just gone horses that game, I got too greedy from a game prior to this one, and I won that game 8-10 mins in. This game was shortly after and omneity played it differently. Post this game a week or 2 later I made the horse build work but that's only because i was able to capture the rest of his points around his base. SL I think are in a really strong position in pvp. We have had to ban certain units from SL like the chemdogs *how hypocritical of me using them, here in this match lol* but regardless. SL was always in a good spot in 1x1s.

​@@vraxkin5611 lol, each faction requires a training course in itself, and the Necrons were a very tough matchup for SL early game to be honest. Regardless, interesting answer thanks. They look weak, but probably only in the early game.

Vrax could've played better. That opening was really weird. Then he crumbled and lost all the momentum. =deathknell for SL.

Некрон молодець не тільки в економіці, також дуже коректно відіграв тактично. Удари з флангів, розтягування сил супротивника, стрімкі прориви на базу. Цікава, грамотна і виважена гра від некрона.
