The Logan and Rogue thing is more friend/protector. Logan loves Jean, Rogue loves Bobby/Iceman. Logan instantly falling for Jean is why Logan and Cyclops have a rivalry. Logan is very much a protector but he has a lot of demons and rage which is why he likes being alone, because its easier for him.

One of the big hazards for Mutants the fact that their powers develop when the Mutant X gene activates, Usually at some point during the onset of adolescence, Occasionally triggered by other external stressors. .... So, teen and pre-teen children floodes with hormones and undergoing rapid body changes, still in the Process of constructing their basic sense of self, ALSO have to deal with Vast amounts of uncontrolled power, potential body horror, ostracism and othering.

This is why it bugs me when people watch long running movie series in chronological order instead of release order. You get your information out of _intended_ order, and it leads to unnecessary confusion, especially when the continuity is already messed up and confusing as hell anyway.

Nice. Note that, the entire theme behind the creation of the X-Men comic book was to speak about the dangers inherent in discrimination. In particular, prejudicial behaviour against visible minorities in the 50's and 60's. It's metaphor people...

The Logan/Cyclops rivalry has always been a thing. Cyclops is a disciplined leader and is about teamwork. Wolverine is more of a lone wolf and acts on instinct. Cyclops is about organization and coop stuff with the struggles of mutants, Wolverine prefers aggressive, survival oriented stuff. Cyclops is more stoic and reserved, Wolverine is blunt and non non-sense. Cyclops has a strong moral code and protects life at all costs. Wolverine has no issue with lethal force, sometimes brutally so without hesitation. On top of all that they both love Jean. So the normal live triangle thing makes the rivalry even bigger.

a DL should require the same thing a pilot's license does, and a yearly written and physical test, doesnt matter the age drivers ed aint working most dont use blinkers. blame the ones not using blinkers and driving while texting for the added expense and hassle to all other drivers lol maybe the people will force the issue with those who do those things, but def a mandatory physical and written test every year after age 50, and at 60 revoke their DL entirely, vission issues and the ability to process info lowers for ALL humans at those ages, the few exceptions shouldnt make the rule for this

ok man, idk how you dunno a thing about Wolverine, even though you could identify him in seconds. lol but since you asked, i'll give you a brief summary. originally Wolverine's Mutant Abilities are a heightened sense of smell, claws made of bone and incredible self-healing (he's like decades older than he looks.) but he was eventually caught by a scientist who used him as a guinea pig, coating his bones in a space age alloy called Adamantium, because his healing ability helped him survive the strain the process that was put on his body, his entire bone structure is coated in a nigh-invincible metal that will prevent his bones from ever breaking.

I think sometimes people forget there is no romance between Logan and Rouge per say. It's more of a father/daughter kind thing. Granted Rouge does at some point in the movies say she has a crush on him. But Logan does not really feel the same at all. Rouge finally has a father figure and seems confuse fatherly love for romantic love. Now if you want to talk about weird romance though, consider Jean is like 25 and Wolverine is 155. Sure she's an adult, but still.

Still not sure the order you are watching them. But guessing maybe timeline order (not release order?). If so you would shouldn't have watched this yet. You also would have found out how Wolverine became Wolverine...etc. Though technically the X-Men movies with the younger versions of them are a bit messed up timeline wise. I can't say to much due to one movies plot. I guess in short, being your very logical, expect some confusion as you go on. It's why I just say the actors that are older (like in this), their movies are one timeline. The younger X-Men actors are their own timeline. Now, ignoring all issues if you want to go by timeline order (so to speak), you would go... X-Men: First Class X-Men: Days of Future Past X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: Apocalypse Dark Phoenix X-Men X2: X-Men United X-Men: The Last Stand The Wolverine Though I should point out, and probably even more confusing. Once you hit Deadpool, its ANOTHER timeline and not connected at all to these movies really, its more of a MCU thing. And if you ever watch Logan, it's a one off movie. I mean these are all based on comics of course. But Logan was a one off comic also with its own timeline. And for sake of conversation we tend to call anything before the MCU, the Fox Universe. If this is all confusing, welcome to hero movies! lol. At least Disney has tried to keep everything tied together the best they can timeline was for the MCU.

Had a protracted conversation with a friend just two weeks ago about this very topic. It started on how Batman would get a lot of (admittedly deserved) societal whispers in this day and age in either his public or heroic ID, and quickly pivoted to the old man with psychic powers that has a manor (Much like Bruce Wayne) filled with minors that were placed into his guardianship... Huh. Mmm Hmm. No sir, I don't like it. I would say that at least Xavier is one of the good guys but if you know his history from the source material, he is not above controlling minds or erasing thoughts and memories to cover up avoidable indiscretions on his part. Xavier harbors some dirty skeletons in his closet, he is no saint and has left a long list of victims that don't even know it. It would be a dark day in comics history, but if it was revealed that Xavier had inappropriate relations with one or more of his students, I would be less surprised than Captain America saying "Hail Hydra!"

Here's another example of watching the movies out of release order. The timeline doesn't make sense in release order; it makes less in chronological. You are going to be lost. It skips to a whole new timeline at a point... Fox wasn't consistent with these movies at all. It makes more sense if you just take the original trilogy at face value, then treat the First Class movies as a soft reboot... if you don't account for 10 year time jumps where no one ages. I see the merit of watching it in chronological, but from what I observed in your Star Wars reacts, you are going to be more lost than if you just watched release order. Don't get me started on the Wolverine movies...

I don't see the Logan Rogue thing as weird because its obvious even though quick that they are trying to get Logan to be the big brother, because at the end of most of the series he is like everyone's big brother. Spoiler Alert: I do hate that they recasted Sabretooth after this and found it funny that this Sabretooth comes back in Wolverine vs Deadpool. I didnt understand this sabretooth because did he not realize he was Wolverines Brother? Why did they not mention it in this movie? They made a whole other movie based on it, then in Deadpool he literally has to tell Wolverine hey thats your brother...as if he didnt know....but maybe he didnt because its the sabretooth they didnt mention it...I dunno the whole sabretooth thing.

When it came out, mostly the X-Men comic book fans were excited about it coming out. We didn't focus too on whether or not Wolverine and Rogue were romantic as much as you. Wolverine being down bad for Jean in the comics was always a bit icky, especially since he's born in the late 1800's. That being said, I guess all of his relationships are with significantly younger women simply because of his healing factor slowing down his aging. It feels initially less icky in this flick because they essentially normalized Logan to look like he's at most a decade older than Jean and Scott.

I like that you highlighted the situational issue. I mean it's a superhero universe and things simply do not exist like say the child support agency for one example. But the adult/youngster relations, and in a boarding school mind you? And that is something very caked on in the X-Men comic books. Rogue and counterpart characters were often subject to it with specific older males in the team to the point of glossing the cover. No joke I read an old comic book recently that involved a cross-over between the X-Men and a character known as ROM and it was laden with preternatural relationship context that was disturbing to say the least. Much of centering around Rogue whom was depicted as a teenager in these old comics. I suppose we can be thankful the films chose not to highlight the Rogue and Magneto relationship which is bluntly sexual in nature. Maybe it's even cool the filmmakers even decided to nod that aspect of the comics. On the other as the movies role I do notice that aspect is worked out of the plots all together. Clearly someone also looked at this production and noticed how obnoxious all that was.

You cannot judge the X-Men Movies by any of the Disney Marvel Movies. They were done better and by Sony and other companies. One of the most lame things they did with the character ROGUE was make her a teen girl. In the comics she was a very sexy woman and well built top to bottom and was somewhere between 20 and 35 years old. To make her a lame teen girl that is unsure instead of a mature self secure woman made me so mad. Also the actress did not look remotely as beautiful as the comic woman. There were 3 woman who would have been far far far far better and both looked more like ROGUE !! #1. Alyssa Milano #2. Carmen Electra #3. Natalie Portman.
