I've collected, DJ'd and danced to Northern Soul since going to Wigan Casino in the late 1970's. These recordings are made so that long into the future, anyone can visit KZbin and continue to learn about and listen to this fantastic music, after I'm gone. They were recorded in the USA at a period in time when sadly overlooked. Only to be discovered and played in the 1970's soul clubs of the UK, and now played in many venues in countries all over the world. Many are recorded on obscure record labels, that simply never got airplay and the small number of records that were pressed, just disappeared. Hence their rarity.

I have no affiliation to the site, but there you will find a wealth of knowledge from dedicated lovers of the music. Together they know every artist, band member, pressing plant, label, label owner and origin of every track. Some so knowledgable that they can even tell you who the third saxophonist on the left was on some of the recordings. Others on the rare soul scene though may argue that it wasn't that guy, it was actually his brother! Whoever is right, Northern Soul fascinates and satisfies many over 50 years on.

Hiya, any chance you can do a full listing of the artists and the tracks ? It would really help for new viewers and hopefully grow the channel. The tunes are great , but if you don't know who's singing what. What's the the point....I know it's more hard work for you. BUT your rewards will be in heaven . I’m glad you keep listening Paul. Putting these sets together and editing takes a lot of time. I have loads more recorded but haven’t the time to put up, doing detailed lists would take even longer to type up. I like to show the labels as it has much more details than just a list for anyone who wants that sort of info. my life is a nightmare for me to miss Wigan 50th I have never stopped going to the northern world of the place I'll always be happy for me and baz to get to hear my sugar baby again and I have respect for your time in my heart to the place in our lives where we all love ❤️ chance to get to see if I can still dance again but I'm not sure that I can do it sins having a major stroke man not one for giving up but it's getting to these venues when you can't drive I still think I could dance as good as many went to the 50th anniversary I was still pulling a good spin-off in my 5 7anyway I can imagine what what would happen if I try to spin no I've had a stroke don't think I would pull one off now love laugh out loud

It is indeed legit. Gamble was a New York label. Though mine was the French Gamble release. Frankie recorded on a few labels, his rarest on Fairmont and Rouser ‘Because of My Heart. Cheers

Cheers Gerry, I'm glad you enjoy. If by revving you mean the danger of cue burn, I know what you mean. You'll notice that I don't scratch around right at the intro to avoid causing permanent damage and that annoying fuzzing at the start of a track. Passing a high end needle backwards on a perfectly balanced deck with a very light set up has little impact. I always take the cartridges with me to venues where some may as well use a 6" nail for a needle! 😂 I wouldn't dream of playing a record on them, let alone revving.
