I am 55 years old and have never tried sardines or anchovies until this past week. My 'For You' suggestions from KZbin introduced me to your videos and, Sir...thank you. I am drunk on tinned fish these past few days and couldn't be more satisfied. When I was in college I had a class on childhood development which was fascinating. Kids like ketchup before mustard (sweet = ok...acrid = poisonous). It's a thing. Eventually we develop a set of stones and try the scarier stuff and become well-developed human beings. Maybe, before I die, I'll try a slimy raw oyster. Or not. Thank You. Merry Christmas :)

I'm Portuguese, and my favorite canned Sardines are Sabor do Mar and Bom Petisco. I always buy the spicy one in oil or tomato sauce. These companies make good Mackerel too, but the best Mackerel is the one my mom makes in the oven with spicy bread filling inside their bellies. Anyway, canned fish is such a comfort food. When my mom didn't feel like cooking, we'd toast bread and always have canned fish and maybe some boiled eggs or olives on the side. It brings me back to my childhood when I saw this video and saw so many cans.

I always avoided canned fish, but one day i got the urge to try it. I can not believe that i avoided it for so long, most of it is absolutely delicious, especially smoked herring and sardines. Stay away crom canned oysters though, they are delicious but they are commonly farmed in China and have ridiculous amounts of heavy metals. I used my Radiacode and put an open can of the Reese large smoked oysters in a lead box. Out of the 3 cans i did this with all 3 cans had radiation levels significantly higher than background and the analysis of the spectrum suggested that the contamination was Cesium 137. Im not saying you will die if you eat them, but Cesium 137 bioaccumulation means it will build up in your bones and organs over time and if you eat enough of it then it can cause serious problems.
