if you'd actually watched the reviews, you'd know they've essentially said the same things. Mortismal also says that the story is good "for an arpg" and "mostly solves problems by smashing through them" that there is almost no opportunities for roleplay.

Mortismal Gaming has sold out. It should tell you a lot that he was willing to advertise Unknown 9: Awakening despite it being a total disaster. It should also tell you a lot that tons of his fanbase said "That is awesome you got your bag. We know this game sucks, but we totally support you!". If he's willing to take the payoff to promote something that was that bad, what else is he willing to do? Is he willing to say a game is amazing because he knows if he doesn't he won't get a review key in the future? To me, it seems like it. Guy used to be my favorite gaming channel. Couldn't trust him less now. :(

I’m starting to think this is a generational issue. Between social media and constant interactions online, games are becoming just that, shallow dialogue and story. I still follow gaming, but I’m slowly playing less and less games over the years. The games and narratives just don’t interest me anymore. Plus, companies just don’t want to support games anymore in the same fashion they used to. Take The Division 2 for example. Huge player base to begin with but wouldn’t properly support it because they never really figured out a monetization strategy that satisfied investors. All, they initially needed to do was add more raids, world expansions, and better equipment and weapons. But Fortnite has ruined the entire industry with its monetization strategy that preys on young kids.

Been a Bioware fan since Baldur's Gate, been a Dragon Age fan since it was first revealed, sadly I won't be able to finish my journey after Trespasser. I knew this game would suck besides the "message" BS. From the reviews, trailers and what not, I knew this game was a hallow shell. Lack luster graphics, horrible writing and VO, terrible character appearances, don't get me started with the Qunari, Solas is a background character, your character isn't important, 3 choices from the previous games and so on. This game is pure laziness, rushed out product to get a quick cash grab and it won't even get that. Bioware should end after this. The company we loved doesn't exist any more.

I think one of the things that bothered me the most about Mass Effect: Andromeda was the lack of friction within my party. Apart from some passive aggressiveness, everyone was always super friends all the time and it saddens me that this seems to be the same in Veilguard. To be clear: I don't need my companions to be at each others throats all the time, but them having strong opinions and disagreeing with me or with each other created some of the most memorable moments in older Bioware games. Remember Mass Effect, where we had a xenophobic space redneck and a hyperviolent turtle on the same team? I remember fondly the times I wanted to throw said space redneck out of the airlock and almost had to shoot the turtle because hyperviolence. Or Morrigan vom DA:O, the evil witch who basically shat on everyone in the party but depending on how you handled her behaviour, by the end of the game she was YOUR evil witch. The art style/character models make every character look like a dwarf or just weirdly short. It's not even like the cast is mostly dwarfs yet 99% of the characters look short, same with the small amount of returning characters. Harding was barely hip/stomach high compared to humans in da3 and now she looks damn near chest/neck high. Honestly bugs me, I genuinely can't figure out if its an bad pov or if they actually cut everyone down a bit.

I know it's becoming oversaturated in modern cultural discussions regarding video games and movies, but this is 100% what Sweet Baby and DEI cultivate. This is the prime example of where activist writing has been pushing the industry. There is NO MODERN AUDIENCE! This would be far more dissapointing if the tone wasn't clearly evident from the quirky bar fight reveal shown months ago that freaked everyone out. The creatives that created the Bioware of old are gone. The Bioware of today is fully represented in Dragon Age Veilguard. This is who they are and as good as it will get. Toxic possitivity is a real problem in the West today. These sudios are cultivating environments where constructive criticism has become a this offensive action that could brand you a biggoted, hateful person today. It is a joke, just like this game. It's just sad. Bioware has been dead for years. This just gave the people who didnt know their overdue wake up call. Hopefully they sell the DA and Mass Effect IP's to a competent studio like Larian.
