As a native English speaker (who has also studied foreign languages), I find this fascinating. Native speakers learn the intonation by hearing it over and over without ever studying it, but I love this stuff. It also reinforces how damn hard English is!

Actually it’s not that hard to learn. One of the easiest languages that I’ve learnt as a native Russia speaker.
@ПАУК-о2я3 жыл бұрын

I also think English is one of the simplest languages in the world. I speak 6 different languages and English is not my native language. But out of all languages I find this the easiest one: no conjugations, simple structures. Unfortunately also also not as rich and deep as other old languages. I think this one of the reasons it is one the most spread languages in the world.

Thank you, this is an excellent spoken English teaching video. Although English is not as hard as other languages to learn, however, spoken English is a challenge, especially American Accent. I remembered when I just arrived, my sponsor wanted me to pronounce every sound, even though I could not hear the ending sound like the 'T' and 'D'. Accent is hard to manage. I spoke several languages. Only my Cantonese is almost near perfect. But when I traveled to Hong Kong, the people knew I was not a native. 😃 I appreciate the technique you taught.

I personally grew up speaking both English and Hindi (my language, which is in India), with everyone around me speaking English with an Indian accent. A mix of hearing languages speaking on the internet and real life gave me a very broken English accent which made people laugh. Additionally, my accent makes me stutter constantly and gives people the impression I'm not confident. The final straw to learn the American accent was when I heard my friend who went to America for barely 6 months speak. I could not recognize him. Prior to staying in America, he stuttered incessantly, and sounded VERY unconfident in comparison. Afterwards, he sounded as fluent and confident as the teacher on this very video. That encouraged me to learn to speak with a proper accent. Though it is way easier to learn it if you hear it constantly, it's much more convenient and plausible to just learn it from a teacher on the internet.
