Hello Kevin. Please tell us these two words-- Let and permit(v) are synonyms? Are they interchangeable? P/S Kevin, thank you for helping us learn correct English. After all, i would say: there are many words in English when they are both have meaning a noun and a verb(at the same time), but the pronunciation is the same. But I rarely check that a word that has the meaning of both a verb and a noun can have different pronunciation. I was surprise that permit(v) and permit (n) have different pronunciation

I hear you saying article “a” as /a/ not /ə/ like in cAmedy not like in pAper is it true? I never heard it before and thought we should use [ə]. It's interesting and a little bit confused
