Only managed to see Hyper once, despite being more than aware of him from Kool. I was seventeen, it was at Dancefest, (Formerly Teenrage) at Tolworth Leisure Centre. He died the following summer. Genuine pioneer. Bonkers range of styles, bare lyrics and gimmicks, crowd callbacks, lyrics for specific tracks like Super Sharp Shooter.. Instantly recognisable, absolutely magnetic persona and 200% energy. Arguably not immitated as much as Skibz, or Ecksy. I think that's because as an MC, he was something beyond bars, flow and a 'style', I'm not saying that's all Skibz and Ecksy was/are, but if you've experienced Blackmarket and Hyper D with a 50k sound system, lasers, and you hear "JUNGLISTS ARE YOU REAHEADY?", you know what I'm saying. It just hit different.
