Oh! One of my co-workers knew a guy who developed bells palsy, and thought he'd had a stroke somehow. Come to find out he'd had an ear infection that reached his facial nerve. So this absolutely does happen! He didn't know he'd had an infection, because it only hurt for a week and then stopped. We're in the US, so we don't go to the Dr unless its really really needed, because of, ya know, medical bills causing bankruptcy and all.

Lol we definitely have microsuction, I've only ever had that done when I've gone to an ENT (which is more often than most people bc I used to get chronic ear infections)

I've been wondering. Is having crocodile forcep without teeth, but rather flat be better for grabing without breaking the cerumen or skin? Mabe it doesn't taper thin like the the tip, but not too wide that it will get stuck around the bends. Maybe there could be a better shate to the tip while keeping them toothless.

Fantastic video and very informative. There was nothing tedious about it whatsoever. Whilst you were explaining the anatomy and the risks it made me wonder how much damage is caused by people who have very little training and experience. I go cold at the thought!

I watch alot of ear videos and the ones from (I think) Korea, the Dr didn't use suction very often if at all. He just uses the hook and forceps even with intense patients like like this. I guess that's a personal preference.
