I plan on doing freight in the game as well for career mode. Though right now I need to save up about 60k just for the island. So, in the meantime I built a small oil tanker (actually a fluid carrier) to carry oil and/or diesel between buy and sell points to make a profit. So, in my game currently Oil Sells for 1.966 so that means I pay $1.96 per liter of oil from the gantry. And if I took it from there to the Oil Sale point (the same place where you buy diesel and jet fuel. I can resale that oil at $2.88 per liter. My little fluid carrier ship can hold 3500 liters of fluid cargo. 3500 Liters of oil will cost me $6,881 if I take that same oil and sail it for $2.88/liter I can make $10,080. Subtracting the difference, that's a profit of $3,199. Right now, I have $37,805. This means I need to make at least $22,195 to afford the island alone. 22195 / 3199 = 6.93 I'd need to make 6 trips between the oil gantry and the sale point (which is only about a 2 to 3 km journey roughly). Not bad in my opinion. I'm not sure the distances because my ship doesn't have a fuel computer in it to determine how far it can go on a single tank, but even if I refuel my ship at the sale point after each trip the total cost wouldn't be far from $1100 for a full tank. So, after about 10 trips I'll have enough for the island plus extra which would be needed to make a bigger fluid carrier ship to get more money to make a train to carry cargo. And a single cargo trip from North Freight Terminal to the BVG Freight Terminal with a single container can bring in a whopping 20k easy. So, if I get like 3 or 4 containers per train with a good price tag and my train has good fuel efficiency or is electric with good efficient generators, I'd be making some good dough. Although right now I am transporting some diesel to the North freight terminal docks to refuel the fueling station there. I used all the diesel in it and decided to refuel it before doing the oil transport operations. This should be fun. Originally my little fluid carrier would have carried more like 19k liters, but the ship wasn't buoyant and/or stable enough so I reduced it significantly to ensure safety and insurance that I wouldn't lose my 28k ship.

I'm confused on why you made the middle part floating. You could either make a supporting bracket on the side or make it extend with the rest of it.

9:04 I would have used the same connector design that is used on the default trains that spawn for missions (or do they not anymore?). Unless they changed since I grabbed a copy, they look much nicer and work great.

just an idea but what if you extended the ends out and added a rail so it could go up more so that you could have 4 containers per module instead of 2 i know how badly i explained that but its just a thought

you could have put the containers on the rail then reverse a trailer into the containers, the carriage would have a open end

Also! I think you should make a similar carrier for your cargo mover. Either on the back of the engine or a small train car at the end. Maybe kinda cool instead of having a different one at every port or just putting it away and spawning one.

This is great! When you built the container mover I was like but how are you gonna get them on? Are you going to make a diesel electric train or jet? I think diesel will be easier to refuel when you need to

you can hook up the cargo transporter to the front of the container car electric connector and it can be a train, so you dont have to build a train

@@sonicbuffalo8665 make sure they have electric, and make sure they have a on/off input for the connector (Tip: small connectors work opposite of electric connectors. You need to give an ON input if you want them to connect)
