I really appreciate these videos. I have extensive experience in varieties of math. Multivariable Calculus, Modern Algebra, Neutral Geometry, Discrete. Stats is my weak point and you break it down in such a concise and plain-to-see way.

That was a great video!. You take your observed value (.44) and then you see how far away it is from the mean (for Ho), then you divide it by how 'all over the place' your model is (your standard distribution). That way you get how many standard distributions it is which tells you how likely it is!

I loved this video so much that I shared it with my girls. My nine-year-old thought that with both think and calculate, there were four steps. And my twelve-year-old was quite dubious of the pee hat until I clarified.

hey sir, thanks for this explanation. i have a question i hope getting an answser. If the question was has the percentage decrease instead of increase, what would be our conclusion ? with the same sample you have taken. we would reject H0 and conclude that it has decrease but there is no logic for me to get 2 different conclusions with one way calcuation.

How is this done when comparing two samples? For example, population A likes something more than population B. I think you touched on it a little in one of the previous videos, but I would like to see the problem worked. Thanks!

you substrach p1 from p2. Thats why it is a 2 proportion z test and not a 1 proportion z test. this vid is confusing

I don't quite understand why do you calculate the standard deviation with sqrt((p*q)/n)? What I am missing is how p*q relate to the "sum of squares"? I've checked your video on standard deviation but this is not mentioned there, or did I miss something? Could you (or anybody) please explain, or point me to an explanation?
@MrNystrom8 жыл бұрын
we are dealing with proportions... categories... not quantitative...
@nikhilfci7 жыл бұрын
So if the sample size was more (say 70) we would have got less standard deviation.. this is what confusing
