Despite the word timeless being thrown around loosely in the watch world, it's safe to say that the Tank reserves its place amongst those timeless legends... Many are discouraged by the intimidating price tag but there are a myriad more affordable tank renditions still out there to enjoy. Great video as always -Paul from Remont

I have a Tank Solo automatic. It is timeless. My biggest (and perhaps only) gripe is the unusual lug width, as I have to order custom straps for it.

Seen a few of these videos now, and the *amzwatch* are getting very very good. Every video I come to the same conclusion - the only reliable way to tell is to remove the caseback and observe the balance. Maybe there is a quick & easy check of the clasp but the balance is the only thing they will really struggle to get right

The Cartier Tank Louis quartz version is ruined by the date at 3. What were they thinking? Destroys the balance of the dial. Furthermore that watch also has mineral crystal. £9000 and they don't fit sapphire!! The Manual wind version is much nicer and has a guilloche centre section in the dial, no date, but is £11,300 - insane! The best bang for the buck by a long chalk is the large size Must de Cartier (exactly the same case dimensions as both Tank Louis) in steel.

My wife lost her Cartier Tank on vacation 3 years ago. It's the only material possession, that she ever missed for more than a few months. The other being the Porsche Macan which she traded in for a more fuel-efficient vehicle when she worked 9 to 5. I can read her expressions when she talked about the loss of the watch even recently. This coming anniversary, I'm going to take us to Makati city PH on tour and stop by the Cartier store for her to pick out the one she likes. I think I'll pick one up as well since I've always wanted one ever since I started paying attention to watches. Why is this watch so powerfully romantic, I'm not so sure. I just know.

A long time back, I bought a Cartier Tank from someone who knew nothing about it (nor did I) I assumed it was a fake due the low price I paid and when I took the back off it had a battery inside, someone offered to buy it off me for far more than I paid for it, but I declined and kept it, it got broke in an accident and I eventually lost it somehow, looking at this and now knowing they did have batteries I'm thinking perhaps I did have a real one, the movement had Seiko stamped on it, so I reckon it was a fake, but it was a nice fake, sort of second prize in a sweep stake, it kept exact time and the date fitted inside the window as it should, when wearing it you didn't notice you had it on but everyone else did !

the epitome of elegance/formal watch. Offered in a wide price range too so it's not too out of reach for many (willing to spend at least ($5k CAD). If you had to have only 2 watches...one sporty one formal...this should be one of the two. One watch that has been featured in Hollywood films. Which amazingly DOES help sell watch and make vintage wathes worth so much more e.g. The ....was it a Tank or a rolex Daytona on Steve Mcqueen's wrist in the mvoie LeMans? I think a Daytona...HIS actual watch sold for a crazy $17M USD :)) Star power. The Cartier Tank on "Gordon Gekko's wrist" --Michael Douglas in the film Wall Street. Funny his watch wasnt sold for crazy money like McQueens. If sold at all.

Just bought one a month ago, had quality issue (power reserve so low, only about 20 hours), but exchanged one, it's brilliant. This watch can bring the best of masculinity when paired with an alligator strap and a nice suit - my first encounter of the watch was exactly that, worn by a handsome man in suit and tie. So I disagree it's a unisex watch.
