For 12 bar boogie, there is no one better than 1970's Status Quo. The Original Frantic 4 had a magic to them. Francis Rossi (lead), Rick Parffitt ' RIP' (rythem), Alan Lancaster 'RIP' (bass) and John Coghlan (drums).

They played this when I saw them in a small cellar club in London in 1973. I was just a kid, my ears rang for days and it is a lasting memory. If you haven’t already heard it, try their version of Roadhouse Blues. Long live the frantic four🙌❤️🔥

The bands nickname of that 70s period is "The Frantic Four", as heard.. a lot of engery and great play, Parfitt's steady rythm, Rossi's solos, Alans stompin bass and John on drums.. They also have some great live versions of this, even up to modern times (90s).

Fantastic reaction to an equally fantastic song. They did do a few live versions of this song into the 80's, that you would, no doubt, find interesting. It was one of a number of stock numbers that they played that involved a little bit of audience participation, (kind of), where the crowd would sing along to the quiet chorus part. The singing in this instance is Alan Lancaster, who was the bassist at the time and was responsible for some of the more, 'rockier', songs, particularly from the early to mid 70's period of the bands' output. I think you'd love, 'Backwater/Just Take Me', from their 1974, 'Quo', album. You have to do both songs from the album, (as one runs into the next), or you could do the live version from their '77, 'Live!', album. Other songs to consider; 'Roadhouse Blues' 'Mystery Song' (album Version) 'Railroad' 'Junior's Wailing' 'Forty-five Hundred Times.'

Your reactions are crazy amazing and Quo is as well crazy amazin. Years ago they released an album "On the search of the 4th chord", because some people criticized them to be too simple playing always wth the same three chords. But what they made out of these three chords is history since neary 60 years. The best live album of all times is their live album from 1976. Keep on going with them and you will stay alive forever! Greetings from Germany

I'm Australian, Status Quo were huge here in the 70's to early 80's. Toured here from the 70's to the early 2000's -possibly the early 2010's . I think I last saw them in 2007. I could never understand why they were no more than a curiosity, with a low following in the USA. They were awesome since the late 1960's until today! RIP, Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster

I was watching an interview with Rossi uploaded just yesterday on the @Classic Album Review channel and he made mention that he doesn't see Quo touring much beyond 2024...so I say to you to get that cheap plane ticket to the UK, have a place to stay, and a ticket to see Quo whilst they're still touring. Get the experience. I'm lucky in that I've seen them back in '92, '98, and 2007 with seeing Rossi himself on his solo "Tunes and Chat" tour last November (more UK dates for 2025, 80 shows pencilled in). But yes, I strongly urge you to seize the opportunity whilst it still exists. Plus you could buy tour merch (maybe get the poster if you ask nicely). :)

Man, you've got to get Quo Live at the Apollo 76 downloaded. Near quality of the studio versions but with their brilliant interactions with crowd interaction, just brilliant. What made them so raw was that they just didn't give a flying f**k about the music industry / artiste's opinion of them, or the average Pop buyer. They had their hardened following who just loved their near on 25% split all putting their bit in. If you do, IMO, the highlights are Bye Bye Johnny crowd interaction, 45 hundred times (16 mins), Big Fat Mama and 'The Doors' Roadhouse Blues, but the whole thing is Quo at their BEST
