Mrs Kisarale Talks Hair at Gayaza High School and Her Daughter Raising a Child with Disabilities

In this video, we discuss with one of the best and most prominent headteachers in Uganda about how children keeping their hair in school can affect how they interact with each other when they grow up. We also go ahead to discuss how her daughter's high school friends supported her daughter to raise her baby who was born with cerebral palsy during the Covid 19 lockdown.
Gayaza High School is one of the very few schools in Uganda that permits girls to keep their natural hair at while in school. The majority of schools force girls to shave their heads before going to school. It's interesting to know that the social culture and togetherness of the ladies that went to school at Gayaza is quite admirable.

Wow wow wow! For a week We needed a part II, the editing was wanting but great idea! I never learnt how to plait so as you can imagine, I had to keep my hair one-inch as we used to say in our days, however, I do remember the negotiations on Sunday night as people prepared their hair for the week! Negotiation skills honed at that time
