You're a wizard, getting that much hair to "magically" disappear into a faux bob. It looks wonderful and defintely gives off that Mrs Maisel vibe.

Awesome job. My mom was in her 30's in the 1950's and she said that they used bobby pins and hairnets to keep the lower half of their hair in place. The hair net worn on the lower half made the deep indents on the sides.

Morgan you did a fantastic job with this series. Love the hair! If you use the alligator clips in future perhaps keep in the front near your face so they're easier to get out and don't get tangled in the rest of your luscious locks. 🥰

Really great tutorial, Morgan. Speaking as a hairdresser, I would have set your hair on rollers and dried it (ideally with a hood dryer). Curls then would be slightly more defined. I really love your channel and have learned lots from you!

Looks so cute! You can get those deeper more defined swoop waves with clamp type clips overnight
@terrythomas2735 Жыл бұрын
Just after you took the pins out when they were tight you looked so much like Mary Pickford of the silent films. Look up a tutorial on how to do a finger wave because finger waves are a little bit closer to the head but the wave itself is fuller so if you learn to do that, you can do the front that way and then roll up the back, it’ll be much easier and less work .Your hair and dress turned out really cute especially with that dress. Great job.

I am the end of the "dippedy - Doo" Era I think, That particular hair gel setting goup, really left my hair in pretty good shape..
@catherinejustcatherine17784 жыл бұрын
There is thick goop that sets as well as dippedy do & isn't so full of alcohol. I think it's marketed mostly for people with super-curly hair, but I could be wrong. I think the abstract name for the product (eg: to search Amazon with) is "hair setting...*jell*".

I have a whole jar of bobby pins. If using the alligator clips maybe put them at the front and on top so you can see them which would make taking them out easier. I've never done pin curls before....now I want to try them!

I've always loved the white dress Dianne Lane wore in "Under the Tuscan Sun"! It's got a similar silhouette to Mrs. Maisel's dress. Maybe someday I'll take a cue from you and drape it myself! :-)

As soon as I saw her start using that tool I thought "I have to get one of those!!" So I started looking too! So far I found one on Amazon, not sure if it's the same type/brand though. It runs a little over 30$ which has me a bit hesitant tbh. But it seems like it would be a lot easier for me to use on my hair (especially when I have it long) instead of trying to use a finger. I'm not sure if links work in YT comments but if they do, here is the amazon link: www.amazon.com/HRST-Books-LLC-Sculpture-Curl/dp/B00GYF0Z1Y You might check out the "Roll and Go Hair Tool" that is listed in the suggestions underneath, as it's around 23$ instead! It looks a little bit different but I imagine it does the job the same. I'm thinking of buying that one... Hope this helps you!

If you do the curling with your hair still wet from shower, do you still need that setting liquid? If so, you just use the spray bottle with just the liquid? Thanks for this video!
@MorganDonner5 жыл бұрын
I find that the setting lotion helps, but you should experiment on your own hair to see what is most effective for you 😉

When I brush my hair, all the curlys disappear, am I doing something wrong?
@isaurebaljet3374 жыл бұрын
I had that too in the beginning. Do you have a setting lotion or setting mouse? Helps a lot. Also, if you don’t have a bore bristle brush, buy one! That’s quite important. If you have done all those things and it still doesn’t work, you should take maybe foamrollers or just more and very little sections. I hope this helps!

I'm very puzzled as to why you keep calling Midge "Miss Maisel" or even "Ms Maisel"? She's married to Joel Maisel, and it's the 1950s, so she's definitely MRS Maisel!
