My mom just got one and i don't know if i can go in it.... But it was $8000.00 (side note 92 jets, built in blue tooth so you can play music, lights that can change color) If she lived in the US I'd let her come over anytime. I haven't gotten in the darn thing once. My mom got it to help all of us with our pains she especially got it for me and I'm the only one that hasn't gotten in it.

"Dye it! Put heat on it! Ruin it!" Girl, YES. I have an absolute mop of naturally glossy, mixed texture hair (used to be straight, turned wavy in my mid-20s?? somehow??) that hairdressers LOVE, but looks a mess in its natural state because it holds neither curl nor proper style. I'm sure without chronic fatigue I'd find some way to tame it, but as I am, NOPE. Now I absolutely destroy it to dye it a rose pink every few months, and I've never had better hair. Love these accessible tips, thank you! xoxo

I was worried something was wrong with me. Haha I'm in my early 60's and permed my hair most of my adult life. When I became disabled in my late 40's I could no long afford to have that done so I left it alone. Then suddenly about 10 yrs ago it turned curly.

I would say try it! But go easy on yourself and don't beat yourself up if it's too painful. Oh also, approach the whole thing with low expectations - I don't think anyone's first set was much of a masterpiece, haha. And my top tip: if you're planning to sleep in the rollers, you may be inclined to put them in before bed. Personally, I have hardly any spoons left by night-time and often my pain will be so bad that I won't have the strength to put my hair in rollers. So if you have a bit of time - and energy - during the day, I would suggest trying it then instead. Better to put them in too early than too late! :)

Try it out! When i finally got it right i was so satisfied with it! But definitely start earlier in the day, especially on your first try (it takes me at least 30 mins to 1 hour now that I've kinda got it). Also your arms will get tired so take breaks, and don't worry if you don't get the curls you want right away (i looked like a poodle the first time). Hope you try it and good luck if you do! 😁

A little tip - if you still find the plastic bit on the roller uncomfortable - cut it and pull it out, and insert a longish strip of fabric ( Cotten or linen) through the hole, and just tie a knot instead - it holds just as good but is a little more comfortable to sleep on ;)

Hello very late comment, I had that, weirdly it got fixed earlier in quarteen when I just was like "AHH I have no responsibilitys now, HAIR DYE TIME" and now I only have to wash it every 3-4 days, I just used dye no bleach because I am a natural blonde. No idea why it worked but you could try it out.

I honestly admire your dedication to your hair. I get what you mean though about feeling fine when your hair is good. Sort of one less thing to worry about and it's some what better to be seen as the girl with fantatic hair opposed to the girl with crutches kinda thing. I'm the same but with tattoos.

That "holding the hair to prevent root pulling" trick really works! My little sister is INCREDIBLY sensitive to pain (thx trauma) so she used to scream bloody murder every time it was brushed bc, despite it being so thin and straight, it gets tangled v easily. I started just drowning her hair in detangler, picking up a knot, holding it firmly, and then brushing it out and she never cries when you do it that way (unless she just doesn't want you touching her or she's really tired). Good tip, Jessica!

the head-pressure-y feeling from wearing both hearing aids makes total sense to me. I feel it just from using earbuds sometimes. I think it might be the eustachian tubes trying to deal with weird air pressure, like when you're super congested or in an aeroplane
@littlebrokenbird
@littlebrokenbird 5 жыл бұрын
Its called occlusion. When you have something in both ear canals you simultaneously remove the natural "escape" route of some sounds and increase the density of your skull by "plugging up" two typically open ear canals. Sound travels faster through solids (bone) than air and so whilst you might hear sounds through the hearing aids/ear buds more loudly, your own voice and sounds of you eating might seem unbearably loud.

As someone with Ehlers Danlos & an autoimmune disorder who, as a result, also deals with severe chronic fatigue, thanks for this! Plus, I love seeing I’m not the only one who talks in circles & beebles a bit when extremely fatigued. I call it pain brain, especially when meds or excessive caffeine make me even more scatterbrained. Oh & you’re definitely not the only one who feels as if body parts can’t breathe if covered, etc. I feel that way wearing earbuds too long, too many layers of clothing, (funnily sometimes not enough layers make me feel like there’s “too much air” on things. Oh the life of a quirky disabled body... 🤦🏽‍♀️😂🙄 Love your channel, it’s lovely for so many reasons including having a place to go for understanding & validation. Thank you so much for doing what you do. 💖💖💖

Sometimes I'm like "I wanna learn how to do my hair like this! I would love to use rollers and have my hair be beautiful!" And then I remember I can't go 3 hours without putting my hair up in a shitty bun, and taking down at least once. My body sucks at regulating temperature just in my face/head area, and I don't deal well.

Omg I have horrible trouble with regulating my temp!! It's my whole body tho, and it hasn't been that long, so I have no idea how to help myself. I love taking hot baths and showers, but I can't anymore. If I have the temp above luke warm, it will make me throw up, every single time. I get cold sweats often, and it's the most uncomfortable and terrible feeling. Sorry, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it, so I got excited cause I'm not alone at least.

i have a theory that the hairstyle comes out so perfectly after this method because you are too tired to try and make each section/roll perfect, which means less adjusting or re-rolling etc of sections, thus allowing the hair to do its own thing, which happens to look exactly the way you prefer (which is just a stroke of luck lmao)

When I had longer hair and I put rollers in I would use the classic magnetic roller’s when I had a headache because the pressure of the metal pins and the rollers would create a pain on my head that negated my migraine and I also would use Velcro rollers. I’m also a trained hairdresser so this is really fun watching.
