Naturally curly hair grows out of the head naturally, not in a particular pattern. Curls that have been put in by rollers and product are much different and are all curling in the same general direction, not pressing against one another.

A little tip - if you still find the plastic bit on the roller uncomfortable - cut it and pull it out, and insert a longish strip of fabric ( Cotten or linen) through the hole, and just tie a knot instead - it holds just as good but is a little more comfortable to sleep on ;)

Maybe I could do this? Maybe.....

I would say try it! But go easy on yourself and don't beat yourself up if it's too painful. Oh also, approach the whole thing with low expectations - I don't think anyone's first set was much of a masterpiece, haha. And my top tip: if you're planning to sleep in the rollers, you may be inclined to put them in before bed. Personally, I have hardly any spoons left by night-time and often my pain will be so bad that I won't have the strength to put my hair in rollers. So if you have a bit of time - and energy - during the day, I would suggest trying it then instead. Better to put them in too early than too late! :)

the head-pressure-y feeling from wearing both hearing aids makes total sense to me. I feel it just from using earbuds sometimes. I think it might be the eustachian tubes trying to deal with weird air pressure, like when you're super congested or in an aeroplane
@littlebrokenbird5 жыл бұрын
Its called occlusion. When you have something in both ear canals you simultaneously remove the natural "escape" route of some sounds and increase the density of your skull by "plugging up" two typically open ear canals. Sound travels faster through solids (bone) than air and so whilst you might hear sounds through the hearing aids/ear buds more loudly, your own voice and sounds of you eating might seem unbearably loud.

I love you intonation in this video when you are saying "tight at the ends, and then relaxed" - it sounds like you're leading a meditation or yoga. It's wonderful!

I have an undercut all the way around my head, and what's left of my hair isn't nearly long enough for this, but this video is too cute and I definitely needed the smile 💕

I loved the video, especially the "Tiny Bunny Rabbit holding up the roof" very out of nowhere but so funny. You are an inspiration Ma'am, so elegant and poised.

i have a theory that the hairstyle comes out so perfectly after this method because you are too tired to try and make each section/roll perfect, which means less adjusting or re-rolling etc of sections, thus allowing the hair to do its own thing, which happens to look exactly the way you prefer (which is just a stroke of luck lmao)

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only teen who loves their natural hair. On it’s own, it looks quite vintage/curly and when I use foam rollers, it holds curls really well

The technique of rolling the top front parts of the hair the other way until the brush out was life changing for me! My hair was looking so flat in that area until i tried this. Thank you!

I also love the smell of Elnett, yes, nostalgia since both my grandmothers used it religiously, but it's such a classical, nice smell. I don't mind smelling like old ladies hair either!

I adore this 🤩✨ I’m always so jealous of people that can brush their hair and it becomes gorgeous... another curly girl lol I want all the vintage styles but never sure how to handle it in combining it with curly hair~

Same! Also with how to get it cut. Curly cut + vintage = not very successful.

I have insanely curly hair and I can do this with mine. First, do not try it on clean hair. It will go frizzy and never recover. Days 3-4 work best. Dry shampoo is your friend. I don't straighten mine as it hates heat, but I will brush it to within an inch of its life with a soft bristle brush. As for the cut, I do my own. I just put it in a high pony tail, flip it over my face and take off an inch at a time, taking it down and brushing it in between until I'm happy with the length. This gives me a couple of blended layers and its shorter in the front and sides, but longer in the back. Would not recommend if you're not comfy with scissors.

That "holding the hair to prevent root pulling" trick really works! My little sister is INCREDIBLY sensitive to pain (thx trauma) so she used to scream bloody murder every time it was brushed bc, despite it being so thin and straight, it gets tangled v easily. I started just drowning her hair in detangler, picking up a knot, holding it firmly, and then brushing it out and she never cries when you do it that way (unless she just doesn't want you touching her or she's really tired). Good tip, Jessica!

this really is one of the most clear and helpful tutorials of hair rolling I've found after many searches over time, as well as entertaining. all the others are too vague and sped up to save time. might just be me being dumb, but the fact that you showed us doing each section of hair during the rolling and combing was really helpful, bc my impatient ass always messily brushes my hair after the rolling rather than combing and shaping. hopefully this time I'll succeed!

That hairspray is good because it holds great but not too well so it doesn't look like a helmet and can be brushed out again.

14:50 Hey Jessica! Cosmetology student here, how I backcomb and make it look smooth is I backcomb the section and then I take a fine tooth comb, spray it with hairspray and ‘shallowly’ comb the very front of the section

As someone with Ehlers Danlos & an autoimmune disorder who, as a result, also deals with severe chronic fatigue, thanks for this! Plus, I love seeing I’m not the only one who talks in circles & beebles a bit when extremely fatigued. I call it pain brain, especially when meds or excessive caffeine make me even more scatterbrained. Oh & you’re definitely not the only one who feels as if body parts can’t breathe if covered, etc. I feel that way wearing earbuds too long, too many layers of clothing, (funnily sometimes not enough layers make me feel like there’s “too much air” on things. Oh the life of a quirky disabled body... 🤦🏽♀️😂🙄 Love your channel, it’s lovely for so many reasons including having a place to go for understanding & validation. Thank you so much for doing what you do. 💖💖💖

Sometimes I'm like "I wanna learn how to do my hair like this! I would love to use rollers and have my hair be beautiful!" And then I remember I can't go 3 hours without putting my hair up in a shitty bun, and taking down at least once. My body sucks at regulating temperature just in my face/head area, and I don't deal well.
@kristinowens8995 жыл бұрын
Omg I have horrible trouble with regulating my temp!! It's my whole body tho, and it hasn't been that long, so I have no idea how to help myself. I love taking hot baths and showers, but I can't anymore. If I have the temp above luke warm, it will make me throw up, every single time. I get cold sweats often, and it's the most uncomfortable and terrible feeling. Sorry, I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it, so I got excited cause I'm not alone at least.
