BigBang are a 2nd generation group, they debuted in 2006! They are considered the Kings of Kpop and are the role models of a lot of Kpop idols of the next generations. (One of Hobi role models is G-Dragon, same as JK, Jin has said that he looks up at T.O.P while Jimin at Taeyang, also you can find a lot of clips of them singing or vibing to their songs✨).

Bigbang is the foundation of K-pop boy groups, they started a lot of K-pop trends and cultures (referred in another comment), and a lot of idols looked up to them, hence, no one will deny their contribution to K-pop. I got into K-pop because of them too, then started stanning other talented groups as well. Bigbang is like the Coldplay of kpop to most of us.

Story behing Fxxk It. They promised the fans a full album after the MADE series (where Loser and Bang Bang Bang came from). more than a year later, there was still no album. Fans started bullying the label and Bigbang to release the full MADE album. Bigbang was like, f*k it, we'll write whatever. And this is what they came up with. F**k It was realeased days before the end of 2016 but it was still the biggest song of the year in Korea.

Awesome, you finally delved into BIGBANG. From the first listen since you enjoyed FXXK IT the most and like "feel good" songs, I recommend checking out BLUE, BAD BOY and Cafe (this was a B-side but there're live stages). Indeed they're versatile as hell which is why they cater to a very wide audience (of all ages too). They have been dubbed as the "Kings / Emperors of Kpop" in which their legacy for the Korean Music Industry is similar to what you'd see for Michael Jackson in the pop industry (no matter how many new artists come and go, they have written history and changed the game for many). All of their released material is written by them and are based on their own experiences, however, they create it in a way in which the listeners can interpret in their own way too so it makes it relatable to many (a skill I personally find quite amazing). The guy with the rainbow hair from still life is G-Dragon, the leader of Bigbang G-Dragon's influence in K-Pop and why he is called the King: 1. G-Dragon is the first idol who ever wrote and composed his own music. After his song was a hit, idols were allowed to create their own music in kpop industry. 2. The first official lightstick in kpop was designed by G-Dragon. Bigbang's lightstick Bangbong is in crown shape and has five petals, each petal represents each member. 3. Before G-Dragon, the most daring color idols would do was brown but he is the one who made colorful hair trend such as blonde, pink, blue, orange, red, green, white there is no color he hasn't tried. 4. He is a fashion icon. The first male asian ambassador for Chanel. He basically paved the way for idols in fashion industry. 5. He is the one who made idol airport fashion trend. 6. He brought genderless fashion for male idols in kpop. He is androgynous male model so he often wears women's coats and jacket for fashion shows and music videos and sometimes wears skirt on stage. 7. He is a true trendsetter and popularized many things. High-top shoes, skinny jeans, oversized hoodies and fur hats are just a few examples. 8. He is the first one to do USB album in kpop. 9. To this day he is still the only soloist from groups to win Artist of the Year/Daesang. Just after three years since debut, he had his first solo album out and had the most successful solo tour in kpop. 10. His collaboration with Flo Rida was the first kpop artist collaboration with western artist. 11. He is a number one artist with most song copyrights under his name in korea and was the youngest person to be listed on The 10 Greatest Korean Composers at the age of 20. Isn't it a bit too late to discover BigBang? :) They've been in the entertainment for such a long time that so much has happened and Still Life is probably their swan song as a group (though they did not perform it as a group here but individually. BigBang is like the Big Brother of k-pop. The light sticks that you see so synonymous with Kpop was introduced by GDragon. Traditionally speaking, Idol groups are not respected by Hiphop (esp "underground") groups who considered them manufactured. But BigBang is a different case. Still Life (the Korean title is translated to Spring Fall Winter Summer) is I believe, a promise made to the VIPs (their longtime fans) to give a proper goodbye/closure before they each embark on their new ventures. Like the 4 seasons, they exist separately in this video and did not perform as a group. The lyrics as sung by each of the members are reflective of their emotions about themeselves and the situation they are in. The fifth member is I believe currently serving time in prison. Big Bang is the "pioneer" of hoe kpop was introduced to the intl audience, although a lot of people say BTS. BTS probably just make it even more global, although BigBang being the Big Brother of kpop already had an intl fan base way before social media was the vehicle to acquire fame if one has the talent to showcase. I think Jin, V & JHope are their hardcore fans, among many other well known celebrities in S Korea and in East/SE Asia. They generally don't give a damn to how people perceived them or fans who no longer are their fans. They just do their music. In fact, they didn;t even promote Still Life, it was quietly released. Even so, it still reached the top on Korean music charts and into billboard top 10 (if not not wrong). I'm not a hardcore kpop fan but if the groups are good, have good songs, sing well or smth unique about them that's not just cutesy image (which BigBang isn't), then I will invest some time into knowing their music. Bigbang is one such case.
