I feel so excited about their future! As individuals, and eventually as a group again. To be honest, this didn't come to me as a surprise. Just the vibe BTS has given off recently, they seemed a bit... "aimless", compared to earlier themes. I was afraid BTS and I were moving in different directions, which is fine, but I wanted to be able to be an ARMY and support them still. And I felt bad for not necessarily being as passionate about their music, their "essence" as I used to and want to be. With the new album, it felt like a closing. I thought it was the end of an era, their closing and opening to something new. I wasn't completely wrong. I was thinking and hoping more on the lines of a near-future where their music moved in a direction I could be more passionate about. But instead, I got these bitter-sweet updates on their thought, feelings, and future plans. I was relieved that they were a bit lost in their message as well, that it wasn't just me losing passion for no reason, or them moving in a direction I personally wasn't a fan of. But I also felt quite sad for them knowing it's another struggle they have to go through. But it makes sense, they don't have much room for growth and maturation as our dear leader, Namjoon said. They seem pretty confident that this is what they need, even if it is a difficult choice. But I support them and I am super proud of their choice and their honesty. BTS has always done what they think is important, even when it's a tougher road than what they could have done. I am truly looking forward to their growth and watching how their own colors will develop from now on. And ARMY will stay by their side because BTS and ARMY are forever, and the best has Yet To Come💜

I had been thinking in a 'what comes next' sort of direction myself. They had the school theme, the young adult theme, the temptations theme, the struggle with love, the journey to self-love... and they're no longer hungry for success. They have success, on a never-imagined scale... but what's next? What's in their hearts now, what's the next message? Well, that was Covid, of course, both derailing them and offering them a new (unanticipated and not entirely welcome) goal: keep the connection with ARMY and give what comfort they can. And now that's over, here's the question again: now what? So, seen that way, a pause to regroup, re-evaluate, and above all, rediscover who they are and what they want to say, makes complete sense. And they will do that best by rediscovering themselves, as individuals, first, then work that into what music they want to make. Much more sensible than trying to settle what BTS and where it's going, and then try to conform (or contort) themselves to that! All that said, it was still a jarring feeling. It's painful to think they've been sitting on this sense of...aimlessness?...for a while and afraid to really address it. It's a sort of ache to think of each member doing his solo thing, without the others nearby. But it's comforting to know they'll be picking up the Run BTS episodes again, to keep their connection and teamwork strong and have fun together. It's even more comforting to reflect that they'll be sharing their music with each other before they release it to us, perhaps even doing unit songs. 'If you love something, you must let it go free.' Fly free, our boys, we'll be here.

I'd read Hobi's Weverse Magazine interview for Proof if you haven't. Hobi explained how he's going to be exploring the other sides of his personality more in the future solo album, which naturally means less happy fun times & a darker, more raw tone of music like Blue Side. Along with that, I'm also happy he's choosing to not dial up that "sunshiney energy" to 1000% like he did when he was younger, he's more lowkey now and I'm sure it's healthier for him. It's impossible to expect people to smile constantly, then when they truly do, you can feel the happiness stronger. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us soon

It broke me to see Namjoon cry. Like I think army including myself often forget that despite how strong and put together he is on camera, he is one of the youngest in the group and debuted at 19 when he was barely even an adult and 9 years of having that pressure of leadership and maintaining the face of BTS has got to hurt and cause so much emotional pain.

Joonie made me tear up, too. I love his mind and personality. I don't think it's gonna be a short hiatus - it would make the most sense to start anew as a band after each member has returned from military service, which will take a couple of years. Even though this is bitter-sweet, I can't say I'm necessarily surprised by this. Lately, apart from putting out music and performances, it seems as though the boys have had their hands on a ton of things. To the point where it was becoming too much. Even though I got the message of Yet To Come in the MV and lyrics, I wasn't too keen on it. It gave me a glimpse of where they were at, and it wasn't too great. You could tell they were burned out, and the music lacked the sauce that BTS usually brings to the plate when they release music. I actually prayed for this, and as it turns out, my answer came early. They NEED the break. I'm honestly thankful that they decided to lay it out in the open and make it official. We had it coming, and I'm glad it came sooner rather than later. Love these boys 💜❤ And if you love them too, no matter how painful it may be, support their decision. And spam it even. Let them know that we're behind them through it all. They can take as long as they need to, and not feel obligated to cut it short when they aren't ready because of us. Come on guys! Let's make sure they know we stand with them on this decision 💜

I think in the video Joon said that they were planning to releasing MOTS:7, go on a huge and long world tour since it was their 7th year then take a break but because of covid they ended up releasing dynamite but unexpectedly dynamite got a Grammy nomination so they had to keep going even though they were at their limit . I think from 2020 onwards they were just like we will do this one more time, one more time and kept pushing until today.

Sh*t I cried again. It's hard seeing them cry and seeing Namjoon cry. But to see that Namjoon thinks if he takes a break that some people might call him lazy...that breaks me heart. Nobody is lazy in BTS, and army will never think of them being like that. I'm happy their focusing on themselves and solo projects for now. They will need at least 2 to 3 years for all of them to complete their military service. So they won't be able to come back as BTS for a while. I believe they need this time to rediscover themselves and their art, and I do believe they'll eventually come back together as BTS.

I'm parsing, but I believe the 'one or two years' is a kind of cover-all for the probability of military service. If they somehow get exempted, it might be closer to a year; if they have to serve, they seem to be giving vibes that they'll join up together, and that will take two years. I'm thinking that because of the way Namjoon was saying how he's 30- which he's not yet- and then remarking rather weirdly that they're all 30, which they definitely aren't. 30 is when they have to go, of course, and we've been hoping they'd get it over with all together... So maybe that's wishful thinking, but maybe not. Find out in December, anyway. As for the group, it's really better to go through your own personal rediscovery phase and then bring that to the group, instead of deciding what the group is about and then trying to fit yourself into that definition. They've done that from the start, debuting as rap and hip-hop because that was who they identified as. When they found that identity didn't cover what they wanted to say and do as artists, they changed the group's designation, not themselves.

Jimin has a habit of drinking water or drinking alcohol when he holds back his tears. Throughout the video, it was even more heartbreaking to see other members worried about Jimin, and when Jimin couldn't hold back his tears and cried, the other members began to cry. There are too many haters, especially for bts. BTS has always told us that it is okay, but they seem to be very hard and difficult because they are human. I mean, they did get scammed, twice, no question of it. I'm so glad u reacted to this and other people did even though it's 1 hr long. as fans that want to understand bts and what they want to support them in it, it's really important to understand. Even though they are like at the top right now, at their best time where they are getting all this fame they are taking a somewhat break or yk to not be a grp u can tell that-that just shows they are really burnt out. I feel like honestly it was the best decision for them in the long run and hopefully it will (I feel like it will) benefit them. Also I feel like it was the best decision for them to tell us themselves. I have already seen, in the space of a few hours of the release of the announcement, that many news companies and stuff have twisted the words saying that they have disbanded or just being extremely toxic about the situation. Or I've also seen a few solo stans saying they won't support or even listen to certain members albums which really is awful. I've also seen a fandom cleanse already today after the announcement (people were leaving everywhere on tiktok and a few on yt). This moment is really hard and sad for army but at the same time exciting for all the solo projects. We understand they need time and space to heal and recover. To know themselves as individuals. BTS relationship is really beautiful and they have told us many times that they want to continue being BTS as long as they can and that makes me calm. Most of the groups will have their solo career alongside the promotion of the group. Groups like that usually don't last long. Once they have their solo career. They rather concentrate on their career than back with the group. In most of these groups, members do not really like each other. But BTS is different. They want to concentrate on the group rather than solo career. I totally agreed with their decisions.

It's interesting to me that I feel something has monumentally shifted since BTS released their Festa Dinner video this morning (for me). While we have been watching them grow up over years, I suddenly see them as grown men at this dinner, and not cute little boys who somehow belong to me or us. I suddenly feel this space between them and ARMY that is about respect. The house they are filming it or their current now ex dorm is actually the The Hill Apartment that they started living since 2018... This house was featured in Bon Voyage season 3 and 4... Now they are living seperately... About the contract thing in Korea there are 2 housing rental system one in Jeonsai and wolsei... I assume BTS rental contract was Jeonsai in which you have to pay a specific amount of money set by the landlord . When using a jeonsei contract, the tenant is exempt from paying monthly rental fees for the length of the contract. Also, assuming there are no damages to the property being leased, the deposit from a jeonsei contract should be returned at the end of the lease period. I think that's why they are saying their contract has ended and now they are moving out of their dorm to have their own living space. It is not common for a Kpop group to live in their dorm after 6-7 years of their debut because before that members move out but BTS lived together in a dorm for almost 9 years since debut

I too am devastated and cried a lot when I heard. I can def understand them wanting to express their individual styles and music. and to explore other things as well. maybe even start dating. and also having to serve in the military. it saddens me though because I'm sure they've known for some time this was happening but we just found out. no easing into the sad news lol. they literally have helped me battle my illnesses and allowed me to smile and laugh with them. i hope they continue to stay on social media and keep us in the loop on their solo projects. hopefully those not in Korea will also have access to BTS solo projects. I will wait patiently my health willing for our guys to get together again. and hopefully we will also see them pair up on some of their solo projects too. although I hear Yoongi is an expensive producer lol
