Yes he was born in hawaii, his father is American with German/Brazilian descent, and his mother is korean. His family moved to China at an early age before settling down in Korea in 2009 (when hueningkai was 7). He is relatively fluent in English but has said that he is way more comfortable in Korean.

He just turned 18 on August 14th! Right now he’s the youngest artist signed to Big Hit and is the new maknae of Big Hit ever since TXT debuted (it used to be Jungkook). He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and his father is an immigrant who was born in Brazil and went to America at the age of 4. His father is also of German descent. It is also rumored that his father has Polish and Scottish blood. His mother is South Korean. Hueningkai is said to be quadrilingual: being able to speak English, Korean, Chinese and Portugese. Not sure about that, but I know that he’s somewhat fluent in English but is more comfortable speaking Korean. His family also lived in China for a few years. His father is even an actor and singer there. Hueningkai’s ethnic origins is kind of complicated lol

Actually all TXT members can speak English. Yeonjun studied in America During grade school. Taeyhun Studied English since he was young he has alot of speaking english tutorial videos Beomgyu studied in an English Academy same academy where Suga studied. Hyuka is a multinational He was born in Hawaii but bec. of his parents work they move a lot from Germany to China and finally settled down to Korea. I think he's mom is the Korean and lastly Soobin there's not much info about how he learn to speak English but I'm sure he's enrolled in English Academy too like Beomgyu.

I'm up to HERE with western "journalists" asking the collaboration question already. That was the constant question posed to BTS since their TV/radio appearances in the states back in 2017, as if 1) their own body of work wasn't worth exploring and could stand on its own merit and 2) did you not know they did collaborate with other artists but you couldn't be bothered to look it up (like Mario Lopez asking if they dance WTH!). Let each group define themselves within their own experience - if it includes a collaboration (or not), that will be up to them and their company.
