this song always makes me cry when i hear it, it feels good to see other people having the same emotional reaction. Ive been a weird kid my whole life and i surrounded myself with as many other weird kids as i could, even my partner! we're all awkward and weird on the inside

Why did I relate to "and all your friend is here"

I'm fairly sure I'm autistic (it's really hard to get a diagnosis especially with how health care works in the states.) But whatever the case it's been abundantly clear all my life that I was weird as hell even within the context of my very mentally ill family. Danny Don't You Know speaks to all the misfits and is the exact kind of music that speaks to weirdos lies me. I'm a decent person though I may be strange, I really want only the best for myself and other people. But perhaps seem to distrust and dislike me because I don't always communicate in a way they understand. I hav3 spent my whole life reading between the lines and trying to understand others and not feeling the same enegr4y in return. It feels good for song like this to even superficially speak to me, to that person outside the bounds of regular human understanding, even if I don't think it relates to me personally. Outcasts must stick together because we have nowhere else to be.

6:16 " which I guess technically I never grew out of" I think this touches on the message of the song really well, and Danny's career more broadly. He didn't find success by changing who he was or by growing out of a phase. He found success by putting in the hard work to improve his comedy and music skills until he was able to connect with an audience that was always out there and ready for an artist like him. Stay weird!

I was always the weird dude in school, mainly in high school. I also found out I was autistic in 6th grade. Never phased me though. I was bullied in middle school and high school, but once I found my passion for music and tech, I never looked back. I'm now graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Game Programming, and I help out with kids that need help in bands where I used to work

I dunno if I would have classified myself as "weird" growing up, though I suppose that's not really up to me. I've always been fairly withdrawn, not really liking to talk to other people unless I had to. My circle of friends was always very small, a few acquaintances and only one or two *friends.* I was always more of the +1, just kind of existing in the periphery. Even being 36, almost 37, that's still mostly true. My cat is basically the only *real* friend I have anymore, and he's ambivalent at best. XD
