So one thing I want to point out about the Yarder you used to show transporting logs down hill. That one once set up does not need a tractor attached to it. It runs on its own. So you can set it up at the base of the hill and then take the tractor to do other things

I think I must have discovered every bug in forestry. Along with flying logs and front loaders, I planted 320 trees on field 86 and they all disappeared sometime after second growth stage. I’m done with forestry until a patch

Lmao same here, two big logs are somewhere on the map I got send to the highest point in the sky, view of the entire map and stayed there untill I detached the winch dropped down. The two logs never seen again, probably somewhere on the map. Edit since I stopped using that red winch and bought the big yarder didn't have a single crash or bug. But I started having bugs when I had the sawmill. So it looks like it's a problem with the sawmill in combination with the red winch.

The disappearing trees has to do with using the tractor mounted planter. It appears Giant did not include growth stages after phase two for that specific planter. Trees don't disappear if you use the excavator planter.

If you look in your controls menu it should say what button throw is. Than you have to hold throw button. The longer you hold the farther you throw. A target will appear in the center rl9f your screen and gets bigger linger you hold it.

I do have a possible solution relating to logs/branches that seem to want to float off or fly away. Im just gonna copy paste it from another post that I made, hope it helps. "After some experimenting, this appears to be caused by cutting the branch too close to the main trunk. This seems to make the game think the branch is a full sized tree, which is why the branch floats off or is disproportionately heavy. You've likely seen this if you try and put a branch in the chipper, and the branch seems to get caught on nothing or starts floating off while it's being chipped. You can fix this by taking your chainsaw and cutting off a small chunk of wood near where you made the first cut on the branch. You need to cut it small enough to where the smaller piece disappears to take this phantom log with it. This will cause the rest of the branch to start behaving like normal. I don't have exact measurements, but it appears you need to cut the branch around 6 inches to a foot off (depending on branch size) from the main trunk to avoid this. Eyeballing that measurement, of course."

I know this isn't a vehicle review, but on PC I have an option to extend the rear bunk on the Pfanzelt trailer after I unfold it and I am still in control group 1/leg my eyes are';t sharp enough to spot if it came up for you. I beleive the point about decorative trees is, that they don't grow, if you place a small one it will always be small, so they are not a viable way to make money from logging, because the placement cost is close to the harvest payout. And yes, I agree that the help still only lists the FS22 Platinum trees and not the FS25 trees.

Well me and my buddies started a multiplayer server and after some initial headaches I asked to split off from the farm and start making money from wood. I made a few mistakes on buying machinery, and generally had no clue how to sell or use the wood to maximize profit. But now, after seeing some of your struggles and understanding what machines allow what products and so on, I feel much more confident getting on with my friends. Thanks a ton for the video man!

1:35:47 it seems from my experience so far that if you’re standing on anything other than the ground you can’t cut a log. I chopped up the big tree next to the cow pasture on river bend and could not cut it on a trailer, and am unable to grind away the stump. Oh how I hate forestry 😢

If you use super strength and the orange and black stump mulcher get out of the tractor leaving it turned on and running lowered too Grab hold of the mulcher from the outside keep tying from different heights making constant passes until it's gone

It almost seems like they don't want you to cut trees while standing on trees. Different from previous versions of the game, but also definitely in line reality where it would be considered very unsafe by professional loggers. Another good deep dive video!

@madyottoyotto3055 I agree that trees shouldn't disappear, but I meant when trees are cut down not tree surgeons taking care of living trees. Once they're cut down the danger of them rolling while being cut means most people wouldn't cut the tree down to shorter lengths while standing on it.

The Lumberjack mod and the placeable $150k Mizer sawmill up against the cow field is gradually clearing out all the trees around the Riverbend Springs starting farm so I can create a couple new fields, selling all the sawmill planks and beams as I go.

You forgot Zielonka the map also has deadwood and wood transport missions (and is base game unless I’m wrong?). Patch 1.4.0.0 I have not experienced a bug with flying through the map or logs doing the same. BUT the ends of the logs for dead wood act like reflections instead of being paint and showing lines like trees should.

The top lights are set for the high beam function. Its not mapped for a controller but should be either Ctrl+F or Shift+F on keyboard if you have one connected to your PS5

Deadwood contracts are the way to go to fill you’re sawmill, you get an average of 20k wood per contract depending on how many trees you cut down and deliver

The more and more bugs/problems added to the poor UX, and non-2024 graphics, has devalued the game to $15 in my opinion. Very addicting game, but the quality and for a title that re-releases 2-3 years, I expected MUCH BETTER graphics, and key information where it’s needed. Example test the control/operation of a tool in the showroom, hiding lease price, not indicating it’s function/role

I just tryed some forestry. When i want to remove branches with the chainsaw sometimes the tree is completely gone, even a big one. What am i doing wrong?

Im not sure if you can rebind on console. But the cranes are much better if you rebind the crane controls so you don't need to hit a different bumper button for each arm. The claw/grab being on a different button is fine. I have mine set so LB+left stick controls main arm up/down/left/right. And LB+right stick controls secondary arm arm up/down/extend/retract.

ive really only done log delivery on the 3rd map liehonka or however its spelt and ive found alot of problems with just that on ps5 from some delivery points not accepting logs on certain vehicles and its different for all 3 to logs just ghosting through crane claws

I do enjoy forestry.. well I did in 22. Forestry is pretty broken in 25 currently.. When I plant trees with either the tractor implement or the big excavator the game will crash 100% of the time when those planted trees hit there next growth stage if I go anywhere near them. I have tried this on more than one map, on a playthrough with 20 hours played and a fresh save. 100% of the time.. I sent a bug report last weekend and it has not been looked at yet.

Seems most if not all issues with the game are pretty much PS5. I'm well over 100hrs and have had nothing go wrong. No crashes or any other issues to worry about, yet every video I've watched of yours you say you've had issues with something or the other and your game crashes multiple times every time you play it. That's crazy, glad I'm not playing on PS. Giants should really figure out what the heck is going on, that would be very irritating.

Top tip Enable super strength Even if you don't want to use it to load Gently shake the truck after loading and usually the loggs settle better one or two vehicles did allow some to fall through the bed of the truck just learn which do and dont Then its not cheating

For me on fs25, logging is a dream, any mishaps were my own fault.. moving the crane the wrong way etc. except for the lag episodes and crashes The only issue for logs being uppity it when using straps and adding new logs on top of the strapped logs Not using easy crane option either.. The trucks crane is far easier than the trailer based cranes, able to grab logs better

the large volvo excavator is bugged I think, I do about 2-3 trees and then it stops auto aligning.... sell it buy it again and it works for about 2-3 trees and then stops again. whole game is still buggy and laggy.
