Released on Friday 28th May, Gold Rush The Game, based on Discovery Channel’s #1 show Gold Rush, is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console family via PlayStation™ Store and Microsoft Store. Console players on release will get access to all playable DLC content that the PC version offered. The objective is: work hard, dig deep, explore the world, to become the wealthiest person in Alaska. Use a variety of specialist machines to find as much gold as possible.
Episode 4: After spending ‘a while’ off camera on my Tier 2 set up, I decided I needed the larger excavator! This then turned into an ‘unusual’ set up after I sold all my gold.

Thanks very much for all of the enjoyment provided from all of your time/work/gameplay/editing,etc. - all truly very much appreciated! Largely due to your “first impressions” video of this game along with your comments about it etc., I bought “Gold Rush” on release day for PS5. I confess I’ve still not actually played it yet, though, but looking forward to digging into it ASAP. In a way, it reminds me of how totally clueless & intimidated I felt when I picked up “Farming Simulator 19” when it was offered as a free game of the month (early 2020), knowing essentially zero about farming & not knowing what to expect from it - whether I’d like it at all or not (I then got addicted from the very start of the FS19 tutorial). Though I haven’t actually ‘played’ this yet, I have taken time out to read through most all of the “book” that it has, as well as picking up various bits of helpful info & tips etc. via your videos with this so far (thanks!). Thanks again for all that you do - you’re “solid gold”! :-) Looking forward to the next episode of this series, as well as whatever else you’ll be posting as usual (FS19 mod/map reviews, etc.) - I enjoy them all! I’ll have to admit, this “Gold Rush” series is a really nice change of pace & something a little new/different than most everything being FS19 content (& hopefully it’s proving to be lots of fun & very enjoyable for you playing it, a bit of a nice diversion for you) - it reminds me of how you sounded like you truly were having SO much fun with the FS19 Eureka Farms ‘BONKERS’ fun for something different than the normal stuff. I ended up buying a splitter for the water and power so I didnt have to switch the cables between the wavetable and magnatite thingy. I am slowly buying the equipment for tier 3.

Same. I set them up in my gold room (tent) and have the hog pan connected too. Looks nice in the gold room, and I like having a dedicated processing area. Should be able to fit the nuggetator in there too I think.

You can get to tier 3 easily inside an hour of gameplay if you borrow money and pay off asp and keep borrowing until yo have enough buy your way in. Rent the big excavater though.

God I love this series! So glad you picked this up, Mr. Sealy P. I’ve said it before - I’ve been waiting literal years to play this game since I only have Macs and consoles, and I gave up waiting. If you hadn’t announced it, I’d have never known it was available. I’m about to have major surgery with a decent recovery period, and I was getting burned out on FS19, so you have VASTLY improved my recovery time. Thank you, sir.

Tip :- The large static fuel tank is a good investment. You can order fuel for it that fills it at midnight and thus saves many trips into town, also a water trailer for when the river dries up (large blue hose needed to connect to water tower in town. Im grinding the first parcel using two mobile wash plants (placed back to back) and front loader to fill them, plus a mobile wash plant for excavator that is for the edges around the top, (The dirt area is deep). This is my third start and is going well as the first two i tried to stream getting bank loans to make streams more interesting and rushing to get equipment. the money from first plot i plan to buy second to avoid the rent, second plot will go to buy higher tier equipment, third plot il have top equipment and money will go to buy fourth plot where i should have all equipment and no rent,,, well thats my plan lol. Beware bank loans there are shocking in interest repayments. Also you may get quite a shock in repairs when you come back from winter if you have alot of equipment,, (Use the shed to store things from winter frost,, excavator trailers etc). Your Magnetite helps upgrade your Blacksmith you take it to a grid on the map (nowhere near the blacksmith) here is my last video i did on it to try help people just starting on the game (you will see how deep the dirt is lol) kzbin.info/www/bejne/o16zq6B8p7F-p9E

If you go over by the green shed there is a place to sell your equipment. Its a big concrete pad with yellow and black tape on it like the store has. I used it to sell the hog pan.

I believe you are still leasing the big excavator, it is in your storage. Until you purchase land upgrades from the bank you are limited to X amount of heavy equipment on the land you own.

Love this game 👍👌 the attention to detail is fantastic. Summer drys up, store some water in a trailer tank or save up and fix the water tower on site 4m chains are more than enough for moving tier 3 equipment. Paying for drilling in the menu, drills random squares.

Episode one - not so sure having been used to the smoothness of FS19 / Snowrunner. Episode four - I'm hooked! That's Snowrunner, FS19 and now Gold Rush - The Game I've got to thank you for! LOL. Anyway, I've found it really helpful to go onto the game with "everything a $1". That way you can try out all the machinery / equipment and find out how good / not so good it is so when you go in and play the game "properly" (i.e. earning money to buy the kit and make progress), you know what works best for you. In any case, keep up the Stirling work Sir!

Im not sure if it has been mentioned or not but the equipment gets more expensive as a whole in summer and gets alot cheaper towards the end of each season in winter. It can be beneficial sometimes to save a pile of money until winter and then purchase a bunch of stuff at once.

Another awesome episode - love seeing how you approach things compared to myself. I had not considered a wheel loader and 2 mobile wash stations ... or renting tier 3 stuff. One suggestion would be to get an electric water pump and power/water splitters. That way you only have to switch on/off the one power generator and have one fuel level to fill. Like you I was surprised (shocked) at how much tier 3 costs, but I guess that's the point of the game - if you can complete it in an afternoon then we'd moan it's not good value for money. It keeps the realism having the high prices and extends the gameplay. I just wish the control system had been like Farm sim (ie. L1, R1, L1+R1, plus being able to zoom in and out) as switching between driver mode and operator mode is a little frustrating. As you said - it IS addictive. Thanks for the vid - keep 'em coming, please.

Game has been on pc for 4 years and supported throughout. console version is a few patches behind and the devs have said they plan to catch console up to pc version and then begin releasing additional content for both.

Like was previously mentioned the game has been out for some time on P.C. and while it will be caught up eventually (at least that's their stated plan) I'm not sure how much new content, if any, we will see moving forward. I do however have hopes that they will expand on the concept in a sequel title, even if it's without the show branding. (Just my hopes, nothing to substantiate it) The biggest issue is that most problems in the game are very fundamental (loading) and can not be easily fixed as they are completely structural at this point. So I believe any massive improvements will require a complete rebuild. That being said, It has great potential. It reminds me of Giants' early work with Farm Simulator in many ways. If they can learn from their products and make user experience focused improvements moving forward I believe they can be just as successful as FS in time.

I connected a small waterpump to the watertrailer. The watertrailer isn connected to the washingtrailer. So the river drys out i have the watertrailer to go in summertime. 😃

Rent the drilling machine, take samples of the ground around you. You may be digging in ground that doesn't have alot of gold.

Why not use power and water spliters that way you only need 1 Generator and pump and with splitters you wouldn't have to reconnect wires and hoses.

I'm doing the tutorial In the hole with a shovel you need to make 23k. Sorted! Now with a tiny Excavator It wants you to make 510k to move on to tier 3 that's before it tells you to have a wave table !!!
