The Grint app has the heat map built into the app (paid version) which helps me especially since I like to use aim point.

Great video. I have tried three different methods for coarse management. I have an app, a Garmin watch, and the books. I do wear the watch when I play, it is super convenient. However, the book has way more details in it and you can write down your coarse notes. I have about twenty of them now. The books are a must for me. I have not tried the Strackaline books but they look really nice.

I live in Myrtle Beach and play a lot of the 80+ courses in the area. I have a good amount of the Strakaline books for the courses, but they are an older version. These newer versions with full color maps of the entire hole look nice, but is it easy to read the information in the fairways (sprinklers, distance to fairway bunker, etc.) on a full-color image? OOPS! Close-up view of the book at 10:00 answers that one.

I was making these 8 years ago. I'd go to google maps and use the ruler to find distances. It didn't have the cool green feature but it's cool to see my old idea come to life.

This is where knowing your numbers for each club is critical. Best thing is to book some simulator time and use your gamer golf balls to determine your distances with each club. You can’t go to driving ranges and use range balls for this exercise.

I have a book from Golf Logix for my home course. I don’t know if it has saved me any strokes but if I’m not sure of a read I give it a glance to confirm what I think. I don’t really use the yardage because I have a Shot Scope watch and rangefinder, but I may take a look before an approach shot from now on.

Hi Matt, this isn't a comment on this video rather asking for some advice re your previous video on the Eleven Hybrids, after watching it I purchased a set and I am very pleased with the improvement in my game, however I now have a 7 degree gap between my pitching wedge and my 50 degree gap wedge , do you think this gap is manageable or should I look for something in between?

My guess is that his answer would be something like what is the difference in carry distance between those two clubs for you? Are they both full swing clubs? Is there any overlap in the distances for how you play them? This is one of those questions where it might be worth it to see a fitter or local pro.

Tested the app, every putt is à Straits putt for first three greens. Not accurate.

Another bullshit video for us normal golfers Matt. A green reading book could not help an average golfer by one stroke better let alone 5. Come on. For a single digit handicaper who is really into golf, ok, maybe it would be helpful. But for 90% of golfers, completely useless.

@@StrackaLine I disagree. If you take away measuring and green reading books from the pros then they'll have to take more time and read and get distances. Not all but certain pros take a lot of time out there already and if they have to do the walkouts on yardage and green reading during each hole it will take longer.

@@Bluntobject Pros are a different conversation because they have caddies helping with every shot. For an individual, seeing the breaks of a green in a book is much faster than walking around and plumb-bobbing.
