Just flew the BetaFPV Air75 for the first time last night and it's funny how long they took to catch up to Mr.Shutterbug! 3 years late and you still have them beat by 2 grams! Mr. Shutterbug come back we need you!! edit: What am I saying: It's nearly FOUR YEARS since you created the worlds lightest 75mm. You're ahead of your time!

I fly a Mavic Mini and this clip reminded me of what it feels like being at a bar, sitting next to an F-18 pilot, and knowing the most exotic plane I've ever flown is a Cessna 172. And most of my time was in a 150. The actual footage, indoors and out was mind-blowing. I laughed out loud the first time it went under your chair in the backyard. And... you built it. Very impressive.

You meant that as a joke, but it is sadly true. I'm from the future, trust me.
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Don't worry - the FAA doesn't care about fpv drones less than a few lbs. They are genuinely concerned about safety with larger drones colliding. Even egregious 'violoations' are just met with a phone call. They aren't going to fine you unless you are literally racing in a runway. Also, covered area like inside a home aren't legally controlled by the FAA. The FAA has no incentive to fine regular people and they almost never do it.
@RydalS4 жыл бұрын
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 so you're saying we don't need to obey the rules as long as they're not enforced.
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
@@RydalS I'm saying that just because there is a fence, doesn't mean you are trespassing when you stick you finger through it. The FAA has to draw a line somewhere. The motivation is because they need legal ground to stand on when someone is doing FPV over a runway.

Absolutely amazing!!!!! I’m sure your probably on this but I’d like to bring it up just in case you didn’t think of it. Solder joints : You probably already thought of this but here goes. The only way I see that you can take more weight from these builds is low weight solder joints. Less solder used to build or possibly there is lighter solder?????? At this weight every little bit helps as you have said👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌

One thing I forgot to mention is the fact that the EX0802 motor wires are just barely long enough. Do not cut them shorter! You will need every mm of wire. I suggest pulling them out of the connector and then cutting off the crimped part, preserving as much of the wire length as possible. Also, the tuning info was missing from the video description at first, but it has been added. Happy building! I look forward to seeing what you all come up with!

Is there any way to build something like a swarm of drone.... Like 5 or 10 of This type of drone but all connected by a powerful brain(PC) wirelessly so you could like switch between one drone and another.... then they all would be in sequence in the air but if the battery is only enough to return it send a signal to star a new drone to replace it place then the low battery drone go to a wireless charger...since the battery is so small they could recharge rather quickly... only a random thought I have.

I got a mob6 with the 0702 motors down to 14.6grams following your ideas generally speaking (huge thanks on the "Reny" screws!) and using the amazing lightweight 400mw PandaRC VTX (< 1g) and with new BetaFPV ELRS Whoop board the long range capability is amazing and 4min flights on a piddly little 380mah lipo -- 22gram auw!!! I've also now done the same exact with a 75mm following your lead but kept with the Panda 400mw vtx, added a shortened iFlight 1.2gram rchp antenna direct-soldered to the VTX, and BetaFPV ELRS board with 0802's coming in at 18.9g using flywoo nano props -- i think my excess weight is the external VTX and rchp antenna but still no heavier than a proper Mob7 with just a cheap sh_t linear copper vtx antenna and only 200mw vtx! Range on my 75mm is astounding for a tiny little thing! Thanks for your great vid and flying skills!! 👍

Have you considered 3d printing frames with an SLA printer? You may be able to use the PCB as a structural member and optimize material for the load paths. You have so much prop & power that you wont care about increased efficiency from ducts, you can scavenge material from there - bump hoops made from carbon fiber tow would be very light.

Hello. I watched your video and I have one suggestion for you for future drone builds. You should try wires that are very thin and yet very strong and with good insulation on them. You can find such wires on old laptops and they are found in the cables that connect the monitor to the motherboard. Try to find such a cabal and you will be amazed at how good they are, yet very light and strong.

You can save even more weight. Its professional soldering level but you can desolder the RX "button" connectors and solder in that motor stator wire in correct length (Ive done it and it works fine). But please be EXTREMLY careful as when desoldering the board button if you pull it in any way you can damage the delicate path for signal on board and render it useless (or spend next 20 minutes researching the last component from where the path leads to connector :P )......Also just so you know I am also using only 2 of 3 screws to hold the motor as its enough - just take a pin and put a little loctite on them to hold securely :) GJ you inspired me to try this as it seems awesome
