There’s actually a man in his 90s in Melbourne who runs a wartime museum in Collingwood within Melbourne Australia and he was a teenager during the Second World War. His family and him were captured in 1943 and were sent to Auschwitz for being Jewish in religion and he personally met Josef Mengele face to face while being registered into the camp and Josef was the one who performed the medical entry examination on him and also tattooed his prisoner number onto his arm before sending him on. He was very lucky not to become one of Josef’s victims and because of how he survived until him and his family were rescued by the Russians at the end of the war in 1945 and that’s pretty much how he’s still most likely with us today!

Mengele often chose to experiment on twins. When you would get there he would ask if you were a twin. If you said you were he would rush you to were he did everything. He would treat some twins kindly, often talking to them and even giving them candy. But for some he would do horrible things. For example he would experiment on them. He would take one of the twins into a separate room and torture them. He wanted to see if the other one could feel it. He would also dissect them so see what makes twins twins or something. Keep in mind they were mostly children he did this too. He was obsessed with twins for some reason.
