Just a thought- Maybe your metsuke should choose the follower with extra province suppression? When you start taking cities, you'll need happiness since you can't leave a lot of troops behind.

Not sure where in the video you mean exactly, the one at 17:38 was either +1 overseeing towns, which in itself gives +1 repression, or -1 happiness and +2 repression which basically just means +1 repression. So when it comes to happiness they are exactly the same, except the former gives more money as well as a +1 overseeing armies, which likely won't do much, but still. Either way, even if for some reason I'd get +1 overseeing towns or +5 happiness, I'd still choose overseeing towns. That happiness really won't be that big a deal.

Sinh Phan no it just makes it even harder to detect even when running. Had them being chased by cav and boom. Lead the cav right to my bandits hidden in the forest :3

I don’t do it in general because I think it’s cheap, and contrary to what you said selling military access leads to them betraying and declaring war on you more often than not.

I think that selling it to the ashikaga (shogunate) is pretty darn safe. To my knowledge they never leave their province. As for the "it's cheap" issue, I don't really have a solution. I would suspect an increase (or maybe decrease) in how likely a clan is to attack you when you give military access would at least in part be related to their integrity. That's just a guess. I have not experimented with the game or anything to try to figure it out.
