Not that I haven't seen this performance before, but I'm sorry Jennifer Hudson is not going to be able to live up to what we see right here. I do wanna see and hear Aretha's story told but no matter what Jennifer better do a DAMN GOOD, AND I DO MEAN DAMN GOOD job on this one. Cause this is more than just putting on a wig, dress and lip singing to Aretha's music like it's an 8th grade talent show. This role must be taken seriously.

@@MrsMattMurphy - I've never been so sure that Jennifer has ever been a hardcore Aretha fan. We all know that she loves Aretha's music, but I guarantee she couldn't tell us anything about Aretha personal life, kids N all unless it was told to her by someone else. But whoever Is going to be coaching her to play Aretha better know what they're doing as well. But there seems to be no rush on getting started on this film.

Just my opinion...Jennifer Hudson is a good singer with a very strong voice. However, I have yet to see or hear her cover an Aretha song with success. Once again, just my opinion.....every tribute fell flat, from the Grammys to the funeral. I heard a big voice, but no connection. I understand why Aretha chose Jennifer to play her because of her previous accolades, however Fantasia would have been a wiser choice.

In my opinion I think Fantasia would have been a better choice simply because the sound of her voice is similar to the way Aretha sounded during the 80s, bits and pieces throughout the 90s until her passing. Although I've never heard Fantasia sing in falsetto tone, I'm sure she could pull it off. Jennifer does have a good voice yes, but for me it's not so much about the sound or the power Behind The Voice. It's about acting and behaving like Aretha, her mannerisms on and off stage. Again I think all we're going to see in this whenever it comes out is Jennifer playing Jennifer.
