Nope...... and I can't stand when ppl try to compare her with other female vocalist. This one's better, that one's better. Back then in the early 70's, she stood alone. I was a little girl back then and knew that. In her prime she couldn't be touched.

The incomparable, undisputed and legendary Queen of the rhythm and blues. The Queen of Soul! She delivers any song straight from the depths of her soul, and it's translated from what she's feeling in that moment. I've seen many performances of this song and each time she delivers it from different reference of feeling. The only artist that can make me FEEL the song!!! In a time where we do not feel as much as we used to, this is a good place to start. No one can do it like Aretha, no one!

I don't want nobody Always Sittin' around me and my man I don't want nobody Always Sittin' right there Lookin' at me and that man Be it my mother, my brother or my sister Would you believe, I'll get up, put on some clothes Go out and help you find somebody for dissolving that pain Yes I will Now I don't mind company Because company's alright with me Every once in a while, Yes it is, ah I tell you I don't mind company Because company's alright with me Every once in a while, Yeah But oh, when me and that man get to lovin' I tell you girls I dig you but I just don't have time To sit and chit and sit and chit-chat and smile Don't send me no doctor Fillin' me up with all of those pills I got me a man named Doctor Feelgood And oh, yeah, that man takes me off all o' my pains and my ills His name is Doctor Feelgood in the mornin' And taking care of business Is really this man's gain And after one visit to Doctor Feelgood You'll understand why Feelgood is his name Oh, yeah, oh good God of mine And the man sure makes me feel real, good

Barack Obama: “You can hear Aretha’s influence across the landscape of American music, no matter the genre. What other artist had that kind of impact? Dylan. Maybe Stevie, Ray Charles. The Beatles and the Stones-but, of course, they’re imports. The jazz giants like Armstrong. But it’s a short list. And if I’m stranded on a desert island, and have ten records to take, I know she’s in the collection. For she’ll remind me of my humanity. What’s essential in all of us. And she just sounds so damn good. Here’s a tip: when you’re deejaying a party, open with ‘Rock Steady.’
