Alright, I'm pretty sure that you figured this out by now, but there are defiantly people that are watching this that might want to know, you see the two boxes that hold the color that you are currently using? its right next to the square select and change, lasso tool and wand tool icon, there is a little box that has the 'transparent tiles' in it, click it and the any brush that you are currently using can be used as an eraser, that includes the binary tool so you can get a pixel eraser,just thought you'd like to know~

i still think about this specific piece of art to this day, remarkably often too. edit: you know i intended to keep this simple and sweet, but as i watch this i'm realizing i used to think this was so far beyond what i was ever capable of, as an artist. almost 10 years later i consider myself a professional illustrator and i've never been more happy with the art i produce. if you're seeing this have a wonderful day and keep at it. you're improving, you just can't see it yet

pixel art is basically art made with the binary pencil tool. like the pencil tool in paint, it doesnt have any other colors around it if you draw with it. its just that solid color without pen pressure.. i dont think im explaining it too well xD

+FlowerCrown Boy My hands are actually pretty shakey. I used the smoothing cool for this, its above the canvas. It probably has a different name in other programs, as I have a different translation of it.

My starter tablet was a Wacom Bamboo MTE-450, its very small but okay to start with! As for drawing programs, you could use Photoshop and/or Easy paint tool SAI. And for recording, Camtasia works great, but if you're not interested in using money on a recording program you could go for hypercam or camstudio. I prefer camstudio out of those two. ;3

How do you select just your lineart without lining the whole thing by hand?

I use layers :) This tutorial here explains it pretty well: www.silver-islands.com/saitutorial I personally never use the linework layer option. In drawings like these, my layer setup would be something like this in this order from top to bottom: Lineart highlights (usually sett to overlay) shadows (set to multiply) colors (I usually lock this layer, so that I can color within it without it spilling outside the lineart, for example) Background sketch (this one I hide, but I often save it for fun.) In paintings, I usually don't use layers at all (for example in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWSmn3utYrR4qc0 ) I hope that helped, I might make a video on layers and other functions of SAI later on :)
