Analysing language - An alternative to PEE - The Monkey's Paw

Another attempt at modelling an alternative to PEE. This uses WW Jacobs' The Monkey's Paw as part of a Gothic Horror unit.
Here we focus on the second section, so there are spoilers here if you haven't read the story.

In my opinion, i think everything becomes a lot easier when you analyze the semantic field before everything - writers intention and readers perspective - but it really helps the overall structure of the work. It makes it a lot easier to transition onto new paragraphs, or incorporate the explanation of more advanced techniques (eg combination of multiple techniques), without rambling or waffling.
