It makes especially no sense given the circumstances. They weren’t married so no legal protection if things go belly up. And Becky was the one with regular, predictable income. She went full time for long enough it would come with health insurance which, that household needed badly. KZbin ad revenue fluctuates and ebbs and flows and Amber’s bad about taking her taxes out regularly. Work for someone and they’ll take that money out every month, you file and you get any overcorrection and deductions back in a lump sum. Amber OWED money every year. The problem was the type of work. Becky had health stuff+ mental health stuff and was working a job that tore her body up. I could see a loving adult partnership coming up with something on a firm timeline “Hey, you tore your rotator cuff again. You need to be in counseling. Tell you what, I’m doing really well right now. We’ve both managed to save up a ton, but I want to get more ambitious with the channel. You need a career change. I will support us for exactly 18 months while you get yourself sorted out and get your trade certificate. You’ve got the dog and let’s say you do the shopping and cook 4 nights a week so I have time grow the brand and can keep to a good nutrition plan. That way you’re healthy and can get a job you love and can stay in and not end up on disability because that’s where you’re heading with this job. 18 months. We can afford it. See? I think it will be good for both our health. Tell you what, you look at programs and we’ll asses at the end of 6 months. Deal?”

For more context regarding all of the criticism she received from quitting Optavia: during that time, Amberlynn was pre-recording vlogs, and the content that was posted was almost TWO MONTHS behind. Not only did she shill for an MLM, claiming she did hours of research to make sure it was legitimate, but she actively promoted the program and uploaded the video, well over a month AFTER quitting. She could have easily added a disclaimer if she wanted to keep the Optavia content, or even compiled all three days of her Optavia journey as one video, showing the arc from start to finish. Instead, she strung along the Optavia content for weeks, knowing full well that she was sharing “progress” on a program she quit over a month prior. People were upset NOT ONLY because she quit yet another weight loss journey, but also because she was being completely deceptive (no surprise) by promoting the benefits of a questionable program that she herself never followed through with.

For me, the Optavia fiasco was so bad because I know a few people who have done that diet. Regardless of what you think of it, you cannot claim there’s false advertising, because they say on all of the promotional materials, on the website, and on the book you get when you make your first order, that it is a very low-calorie diet. You’ll be eating about 600 calories a day of their fuelings, and you’ll be making yourself a very low fat, low carb meal of about 500 cal every day as well. The materials all make it explicit that this is an 1100 calorie/day diet, and if you are following the rules, you don’t need any kind of food tracker (because you’re not really making any decisions about food). The Optavia fiasco is when I realized she either did ZERO research before wasting hundreds of dollars, or she’s not bright enough to understand what she reads.

The aggravation I have of her throwing out all those cliff bars or what ever they were claiming they were "*expired*" and "*bad*".... NOT THEY WEREN'T!! Food like that doesn't *expire* - Foods like cream, meat, yogurt etc etc *expire*. Cliff bars would just have a "best before date". Food that has expiration dates is information *not* to consume the food after that date because it can potentially harm you - Make you sick, cause illness or worse. It's foods that will rot or produce harmful bacteria when left for too long. She supposedly has a 140 IQ and she doesn't know the difference between what an expiration date is and a best before date is and what they mean!!! Foods that have best before dates means that it is still fine to eat after that date, there is nothing in there that will harm you, but it just will not be at it's "best" after that date - hence it being called a "best before date".... I've eaten chocolate and cereal bars and stuff like that after the best before date and it's fine - you can't even taste any difference. I pay zero attention to best before dates (with in reason - if it's 6 years past, then yeah, okay I wouldn't eat it!) But the food is not "mouldy" or "bad" (provided it's been sealed properly and remained sealed or stored well e.g an opened pack of biscuits/cookies being put in an air tight container) It's fine to eat!! (Again, obviously it's with in reason with the best before dates - if you find something saying "best before Oct 2015" like yeah... throw that out... But something like a cliff bar just a few months past it's best before date is totally *fine* to eat... It's not "expired" and it's not going to potentially make you ill if you eat it.... There's no ingredients in a cliff bar that expire!! Amber is so f*cking wasteful!!) Many food items in the UK no longer even have best before dates on them (that's how unimportant they are) to avoid food waste because, people like Amber do exactly this - See the item is past the date by just a little bit and throw it out believing it has "expired" and it's too "bad" to consume or it has gone "off" so will be harmful to eat... When it's fine.

I found this series in Jan last year, after episode 3 came out. I had decided I need to do something about my weight after gaining 10lbs in a month and had just hit 200lbs. Now, a year and a half later, I'm over 50lbs down and the lightest I've been since university! Even when I wasnt losing weight, I was maintaining or gaining muscle by making the necessary lifestyle changes. I genuinely owe it all to this series keeping me motivated! I'd tried to lose weight dozens of times in the past but this woman made me see the excuses I was making and how it could spiral. Thanks Snowflake (and Jimmy) for your quality uploads! ❄️

25:38 you're putting up the stats for a UTI which is great because this is how a bladder infection starts. What happens is that you get the UTI, and it usually doesn't go past that stage for most because they'll immediately notice burning when they pee, irritation, itching, etc. It becomes a bladder infection when you leave it untreated and the infection moves from the urethra into the bladder. It is significantly more dangerous once this happens. Edit: just to add, if you don't take care of the bladder infection, it travels up the ureters and becomes a kidney infection.

Amber never reached 600lbs because her scale (a MyWeigh XL-550) only goes up to 550lbs, and the closer you get to the max weight the less accurate it is. She does that purposely so that she can say that her weight NEVER went to 600lbs (she just ignores that it can’t go to 600 because the scale doesn’t GO to 600lbs. This company makes a scale that goes to 700lbs, so she could easily have gotten one that was accurate, but then she would have to see her real weight).
