I didn’t realize characters were more fun in selfie mode! I just learned about adjusting the time of day, probably from your videos. So helpful!

Wow MrStarinSky! I’ve been playing DDLV for just over a year now with 2,000+ hours and yes you taught me some things! First, I minored in photography years ago (even worked as a photojournalist in my previous life, lol) and I was frustrated with what I perceived as limitations to photo composition…like manipulating depth of field for that perfect bokeh effect! I now see that is possible, albeit limited. I love some of these tips you provided! Especially the one right at the end about shooting through lights! I didn’t know that was a possibility, or using the shimmering from the well. This was an extremely well done video and I can hardly wait until your next one about photographing dreamscapes.

I just test it out on my switch and it does take a bit getting used to but I think it's worth it. There was an angle I really liked. I wish I had used it in the trick or treat challenge.

6 streetlights together in the background (or more if you want bigger) will make a big light that’s what helped me on the princess and the frog submission

I actually don't use that mode at all that you called the bread and butter of dreamsnaps lol just hard to do on switch even with touch screen. Maybe I will play with it more now. For the villain one I was able to micro move the camera with touchscreen but I still used the main middle setting.

That's a known bug, but I've been able to get around it a few times now (on PS4) by simply restarting the game. It's still a bit annoying but hopefully it'll get fixed on Dec 5th.

I did the perfect set up and then my camera will not rotate at all. Restarting and doing setup over and over again but my camera will not rotate. Im on PS5. What to do? Can’t take any dreamsnaps like this😭

@@mrStarInSky Yes! But it made me think differently and I got a new dream snap (but without Scrooge and my set up). I uploaded it to starlight dreamers. Tried to upload the 2 I had first with Scrooge on but then realized I only can have one. That makes total sense. Now after doing all that hours with work my camera angle now works again, and I hope it still works next week. On my first setup I used a lot of time because thing disappeared, even buildings disappear now, and most when you try to take pictures. It’s back after place it again but very strange things going on in this game now. Hope they fix all of this. It’s a game I put real money in so it feels more serious then. Thanks for answering. as far as i'm aware, we can't use the free camera on a switch, we can put it to free camera but cant zoom in, so it just looks super awkward and far away, unless i'm silly and don't know how to? if it's not explained in the video (haven't watched just yet) then hopefully someone in the comments can help 😊

L2 and left toggle to move camera. R2 and right toggle to zoom. Its very tricky though. Best of luck in your dream snaps! :)

I honestly find it easier to use the touch screen rather than the ZL and left stick. So, I adjust the camera with the touch screen and use the ZR and right stick to change the zoom in or out. Sometimes zooming in/out does manage to change the camera as well tho, so I usually have to go back and forth between the two a couple times to get everything perfectly lined up how I want it (or give up and settle for "good enough" which is often the case lol) I have a gaming PC and I prefer taking dreamsnaps on my switch, but I think that's an unpopular opinion lol

In the free mode it doesn’t seem to allow you to move around whilst holding L2 and the left stick on PlayStation 5 it’s kinda buggy 🫤 but this video is super helpful! Hopefully it’ll work better soon
