Caravan Of Garbage is back for a new year and what better way to kick off 2021 than with the MCU's biggest failure, Marvel's Inhumans. Beginning life as a movie before being shifted to ABC Television (with a brief stop over at IMAX) it's...just not very good. Why did they do this? I mean we know why we talk about it in the video. I can save you and James the trouble: all of the Inhumans (not just the royal family) escape the moon and trap Maximus there. The U.S. government puts all of the Inhumans from the moon in an undisclosed site on Earth. The end. I think Medusa's hair grew back. Krystal had a romance subplot with a human that I can't remember if it went anywhere. Karnak got his powers back. Triton survived. Nothing much happened except that the inhumans from the moon are now on Earth under government surveillance somewhere, and Maximus is trapped on the moon.

Game of Thrones bad guy gets trapped in a safe house with air and supplies for lifetimes on the moon by his brother Black Bolt. meanwwhile the city of atilan collapses, inhumans are all relocated to earth. Cant remember how their social structure continues after that, don't care, but it also doesn't matter cause it would be one of those "in the future, from now on, this is what we will do" but there is no future fir us to see.

The wierd and funny thing is that Agents of Shield, the show that was the first to feature the Inhumans and still featured them all the way to the final season was criminally underrated as whole and wrote its Inhumans and the storyline for them really really well. It truly is a great show that more people need to watch. I don't know how the people marvel messed up inhumans when Agents of shield absolutely smashed it with them.

I wouldn’t say *this* specifically, it was apparent at the time that there was a build up through AoS and such to the Inhuman royal family in the film. Feige however gained more influence and pretty much discarded the idea (which was never his) and eventually sidelined all the TV stuff as it’s own thing, when previously we were all under the impression that “everything is connected”.

I am more convinced than ever that the people at Marvel Television deliberately botched this show just to get Ike Perlmutter off their backs. It's as if the series was made by the Marvel Comics Pictures, which made all the god-awful live-action versions of superhero shows back in the 80's. Practical effects, abysmal acting, poor concept crap. The incredible hulk as a half-naked bodybuilder with green body paint, Spiderman with huge, single-use wristbands that released nets.... Superheroes are the mythology of our age. They're not supposed to look low-budget.

Come to find out he was one of the producers and didn't have a clue who the Inhumans even were... Said he should probably know something about the characters. I find it interesting that when people mention "worst Marvel" Inhumans doesn't come up. For shows, people will mention Iron Fist or maybe one of the S2 Netflix shows but everyone forgets InHumans exists. It's so bad, that we don't even remember it. I can't blame them. Everyone in the show is absolutely pants-on-head dumb. I essentially stopped where you guys did, after being captured by the police. And, I get that cops are usually portrayed as bumbling Barney Fife but being from Hawaii, this irked me to no end. If there's one thing police in Hawaii are well aware of, it's foreigners who might not understand what they're saying. It's Hawaii. Tourism central. Surely the police would've noticed "hey, this guy can't understand us. Lets get a translator here." Sure, BlackBolt is from the moon but the fact that they didn't even try is just..blah. That was it for me. I mean, I know it seems like a poor point to end it on but that was in addition to everything else.

I think it's simply that too few people saw this - Marvel/Disney knew it was a disaster even as they were releasing it. I don't think it was even released in the UK where I live, whereas Agents of SHIELD was on regular network TV and all the Netflix shows could be watched on, er, Netflix.

I kept rooting for Maximus for the entire series, even in the last episode or two where I think the writers realized "oh shit... maybe we should remind the audience he's supposed to be bad" and have him threaten to attack and take over Earth or whatever. (It's been a few years.) I was still rooting for him when compared to the "good guys".

@@connarkent282 The show did everything possible to give him the "I'm the bad guy" vibes throughout the series, but unfortunately 90% of his seizing of power was based on freeing the enslaved populous. So... even if he was doing it for himself in the end, it was a net plus for the people. Unfortunately the show is trying to use the "evil vizier" trope, but it failed to understand that the concept of someone being the "rightful heir to the throne" is not enough to justify them being the good guy. Imagine how confused things would be in The Lion King if they spent half the time showing how Scar ended up liberating the oppressed hyena population and how the hyenas were unfairly treated. Then add in scenes showing that Simba himself actually contributed to that oppression and supported it prior to being forced out. Now make the hyena population literally half of the population of animals under their rule. Suddenly Scar's claim to power starts to look more and more like the better choice. As for taking over Earth itself, that came in towards the end when they needed to give added motivation and "ramp things up" for a climax. Unfortunately, with this taking place in 2017, I still saw him as a step up considering Earth's current leadership at the time.

It dragged at times. There was potential if this script was moved over to another team, but this was difficult to get through. Plus... I was rooting for the villain. :(

After the 1st episode of "The Inhumans", I continued to watch for the same reason I watched the lasy season of "Lost": because the show was shot here where I live on the island of Oahu, mostly in downtown Honolulu. The scenes in the courtyard, main square, atrium (or whatever they called it) in their moon city were shot in open air center of the state capital building, and the place where they were supposedly going to move all their subjects on earth was the inside of Diamond Head Crater. Watching that show hurt like a hangover, but it was interesting to see the way they tweaked local sites to create their fantasy locations with CGI and props.
