Steve, that dark purple is called Statice. It can also come in pinks ,yellows and white. They make excellent dry flower arrangements for the home.

LOVELY COUNTRYSIDE WALK IN BEAUTIFUL & TRANQUIL GOZO🚶🎄🐦 💦 🦆 🌊 🌅. Steve, loved the background music by the "Gozo Birds" 🎶 🐦.. Gozo never seizes to amaze 😍. In my young days, Gozo was the island that inspired international Writers & Poets so much so that they "lived" there, for example, the late Nicholas Monserrat 🇬🇧 who wrote "The Kappillan of Malta" 📙. I bet you were ready for your brekky at the end. THANKS STEVE🚶 🎥 👏. Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ♥ 🇺🇦 ™

There are two different kinds of fūl in the Maltese Islands that looks like that, the type used to make Bigilla, they look like miniature broad beans with tougher skin, much less desirable to eat fresh, that kind are often called "ful ta' Ġirba" (Djerba beans), are often called 'tic beans'. They are really a type of broad beans. The type you picked appears to be the other kind, the kind used to make 'ful bil kusksu', there appears to be at least two different cultivars of that kind of fūl grown in the Maltese Islands.

sorry not the wall lizards or Geckos, i remember spotting Chameleons in the undergrowth years ago. I was always unsure if they were native to Malta or if people used to buy them from the old market in Valletta and set them free . The days when people used to be able to buy a used brass ammunition shell , sandals, a horse and lizards all before Sunday lunch 😂😅 .

Yes I miss that sunday market, its crazy they got rid of it !!

@@EnglishmaninMaltaYES what a crazy market 👏👏👏 times have changed since then for many different reasons, probably for the better. But what a great experience it was . I'm so privileged to have experienced that market and the CRAZINESS od beautiful Malta in them times (Mala) Also remember a very similar type of market as child in East London in the late 60s and early 70s. Keep up the great work !!! Your a link to so many people's sunshine 😎👏
