Hello Steve, thanks again for showing us down there, I never been down there, but I looked at it from the top, I'm sure I have seen those high arches from the plane too before, sad about it's history, we have a place down here in the south of England known for that kind of thing called Beachy Head, anyway it reminded me a little bit of the old cowboys films, a mini grand canyon heheheeee, bye Steve see you soon.

The Victoria Lines masonry bridge across Wied il-Ghasel. In the early 1900s but it is documented that the bridge was still largely intact before the 25th October 1979 storm.
@EnglishmaninMalta3 жыл бұрын
Oh ok Twanny ..I heard the foundations was roman ..Also that was part of the victoria lines ?? Thanks for the info
@rayczammit22263 жыл бұрын
The remains are of a bridge which is old but not that ancient. It was part of the Victoria Lines built by the British between 1895 and 1899. The bridge was destroyed (except for the supporting arches) in a very violent storm in October 1979 when the valley was transformed into a rapidly flowing river.
@EnglishmaninMalta3 жыл бұрын
Yes I was told after I did the video ..But I also heard it was on older foundations of older bridge ...No idea, But Victoria lines would fit !!

Hi there, If you are interested? In Zebbieh they seem to have found something of interest . On the Mosta to Mgarr Road, as you round the bend heading towards Mgarr village, there is a convenience shop which is popular so you cant miss it. Across the main road in front of the store and in between some older properties and a new apartment building they have started to uncover some strange objects and a well with other features dotted around. They are working carefully with small tools and brushes and my best friend, a Maltese man, says that it looks Stone Age and there seems to be some type of alter which is going to cause havoc if they built the apartment without informing the Heritage Dept and it continues underneath it 😮😪. I have been watching all this from my veranda . It's just below me. If you went week day you might find the archaeologist for some info. It's. fascinating ! Just thought I would let you know. Take care and love the videos 💗
