Their legacy is incalculable. To say The Beatles were very, very special grossly undersells them and their appeal to such a wide and ever expanding audience. The Beatles are a cultural historical reference point and always will be. As will their music. They changed lives and attitudes. They were The Beatles and Paul was a Beatle.

@@jackgammon4084 I can totally agree with your sentiment. But please don't forget George and Ringo. They too were an integral and indispensable part of the magical whole. It was the 4 of them together and their influences on each other that made the Beatles completely unique. What they gave to the world originates there. They were simply greater than the sum of their parts.

For 1 Not all there songs were autobiographical and 2nd of all the line “she was just seventeen” was written when they were young and was most likely referring to a time when they were only 18 or 19 and 3rd it wasn’t uncommon for girls to be married by that age back then
