Yet even so, he went full Son Wukong on Uryu! His Bankai is becoming veteran Captain level, with so many abilities from both the Serpent and Baboon mythos!

I loved how this episode showcased that Renji’s new Bankai can still use Hihio Zabimaru’s abilities which I wouldn’t have imagined it doing since we saw nothing like that in the manga. It definitely feels more like a complete Bankai now.

Agreed! Uryu even notes how the bankai's name is referencing two kings. Aka Hihio was only one of the kings (snake) and the monkey king now works together in tandem with the snake king like his zanpaktou spirit. Masterful symbolism!!

This came out of nowhere and I loved it! Renji's Bankai having elements of his Shikai and incomplete Bankai is so sick. I was hype with every new ability he showed. Kubo and Pierrot are giving us amazing additions to the story. I can't wait to see how everything else will be adapted and the new additions. Also that Lille scene really showed how devastating he is. He took out all those Lieutenant level fighters like it was nothing. Hisagi being out will hopefully mean a CFYOW adaptation in the future 🙏

Uryu shot was not exactly at center, i think he wanted for Renji to survive. He also spoonfeeded him crucial info. My opinion is, Uryu did 2 things: 1. Stoping shinigami to reach Yuha, his sentence that there is no hope for them to win vs Yuha is not statement, it is a warning, and he actualy want to save lifes of some, othervise, Yuha, or other royal guards would kill them for sure. 2. Giving info to shinigami, Renji is for sure to transfer knowledge of Yuha absorbing soul king which would prepare them better and allow for new plan. All i can say is, Uyru is cold war espionage embodiment, playing double agent almost flawlessly, with just one person suspecting him, but barely.

Well renji lost because he had no chance at all. He could not even injure uryu to the point blood appear ? At least blood even if it's just a bit ? His best attack was because uryu was immobilize ( when he could have used the A like he did with senjumaru but you see kubo did not let him so we can conclude he wanted to show how destructive was Renji's attack But despite this, he did not make uryu with blood I hate that passage so much.

This episode was amazing. It further cemented that my favorite Quincy is Lille Barro for sure. His scene of sniping the lieutenants was savage. Renji's fight… was breathtaking. Renji's skills can never be disrespected again… That was an incredible fight, and an astounding bankai! Edit: It was so awesome and nostalgic, seeing the “Hihio” giant snake part of Renji's bankai actually working against the enemy. The music was spot on too.

I liked the way they handled Isane and the other’s being shot down so quickly. 1. Show’s how effortless it is for someone as insanely powerful as Lille Barro and kind of creates some good build up to his reveal. 2. It’s realistic because stuff like that happens in war. People can just get shot and killed out of nowhere in a blink of an eye.

Her design doesn't vibe with me, and her first impression was bad enough that I really can't respect her. Every time she tries to act as this badass black ops specialist, it feels like pure bluster more than anything else. I genuinely prefer Yushiro. Also, Isane is one of my two underrated gems of Bleach who deserve nothing but the best.

She's a young, brash hothead who keeps trying to live up to the image of being a Captain and an assassin, but she fails because that's not who she truly is. For me, the fact that we know she doesn't live up to her idealized self image makes me not really invest in any moments Kubo tries to portray her as a serious badass. Personally, I might warm to her if she has more moments of learning and change and makes more obvious mistakes, but until she really develops, I cannot take her seriously as an assassin or a Captain, unlike with Yoruichi. A lot of this is obviously vibes based, and I hate to admit it, because Soi Fon just isn't my type. It's really shallow, but what can you do?

Every week, especially during the fight episodes, I'm like, "Tommo is gonna go apeshit." I look forward to the reaction as much as the episode. And I'll be honest, I was _always_ disappointed by Renji's new bankai. It's _alright,_ but Hihio Zabimaru is just cooler and more striking. It's a giant snake skeleton sword. What's not to love? And no amount of training and powerscaling and beating Mask could ever make it cooler...until now. This fight was awesome, and it made So-Oh Zabimaru look awesome in a way I never thought it could. I didn't see this coming.

This man renji went all out, pushing his Bankai and abilities to the limit, yet Uryu’s adaptability was just on another level. It’s not just that Uryu won-it’s how he won. He didn’t just overpower Renji; he dismantled him, mentally and physically, which makes it feel so raw and unforgiving. Renji’s line about Uryu not understanding what “Soul” means-absolutely chilling, and I think it’s going to haunt Uryu later. Y'all see Renji’s skeletal-arm transformation or the mechanics of the *Gate of the Sun* ??? Also *Askin's* comedy and the animators’ decisions to lean into certain character quirks (Grimmjow’s jumps!) I just think they did this episode justice! What hits me hardest is how this arc is forcing us to feel something for Uryu, even as he descends deeper into darkness. The hate you mentioned? Yeah, it’s there, but there’s still a sliver of hope he can claw his way back. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking. Either way, this episode? Easily a 10/10. Masterpiece!

Man, it was sooo good to see what So-Oh Zabimaru can do in an extended fight. So many cool techniques. I liked the fur trap move, its a nice evolution to the move he uses in Shikai when he sends the broken bits at someone. Wonder if Uryu really did hit his vital spiritual power points or if there's some Antheses going on, as hinted by the reversed ending. If yes, Orihime could heal that to keep the manga ending intact.

Here is a interesting fact what Lille Barro did is a real Sniper technique you shoot one person with a non-lethal wound to lure the enemy to the wounded person so you can shoot the enemy easier. anyone who tried to help Hisagi just became easier targets for Lille Barro to shoot

ye no way for the god of thunder in this cour, keep in mind there is also the friend flashback. my guess is ep 8-9 mayuri vs the freaky ep 10-11 shunsui vs Ilie Baru ep 12 friend flashback (extended, maybe a more deep dive into the quincy structure at that time...maybe even original gotei 13 cameo) ep 13 - conclusion of Buzz B vs Jugram. - A small anime only fight scene of ichigo vs Aaskin. - the cliffhanger of the cour by setting up Yoruichi vs Aaskin, Gerald gets defetead but comes back once, setting up his fight vs..everyone left pretty much. Uryu reaching Jugram. For cour 4 I expect a heavy extended Aaskin fight, Gerald fight not ending so abruptly, an ACTUAL Jugram vs Uryu fight. Heavy extended final fight...dare I say Aizen bankai and actually seeing what Ichigo true bankai can do..?

One thing I really liked about this episode was that it addressed a personal bugbear I had regarding Renji's true Bankai: namely that it seemed to have a different power set to his Shikai with little to no relation. Here, I loved that both the Shikai blade and the Bankai body could extend much like Shikai Zabimaru, and with the abilities shown here, I can now see why the old Hihio Zabimaru is only a part of the true Sou-ou Zabimaru Bankai. This is actually making me want to speculate on how Renji would fare if this version of him fought Byakuya. Though speaking of Byakuya, I'm kinda wondering if he and Uryu will fight. They probably won't, but it is still fun to think about.

Uryu would probably win if against Byakuya, but it would be a much closer fight than his previous fights: Senjumaru was too arrogant and Renji both lacked cunning and was subconsciously trying not to kill Uryu. Byakuya is an analytical, strong and well-rounded opponent (much like Uryu), he's already been thoroughly humbled, and he would go for the kill against Uryu.

Oh yesss i think it's what kubo wanted to show us because there was absolutely no reason for uryu to stay immobilized for 20 long seconds when he can reverse this situation like he did with senjumaru. Kubo wanted to show us how destructive, this attack of renji was ( but i hate the fact that he did not even make blood appears on uryu, even just a bit ??? Was it too much to ask ?? ) and also that uryu can use Sklaverei and against ichigo, he was already in this form. However, i still think uryu's Vollständig is not complete. Or there's still something coming with this. No halo sternritter ? No name ? No Antithesis used ? No attacks related to his schrift ? I mean all the ritters were shown to have something related to their schrift in Vollständig but uryu still did not show any ? Why????

Lol he was going all out but he just did not want to kill uryu unconsciously, you can go all out in fight without trying to kill your opponent . Uryu was the one who was holding back and clearly had no killing intentions. He even warned renji by telling him, yhwach has absorbed the SK and gained his powers, there was no reason for uryu to say this unless if it's because he wanted to warn renji

@@Leo-ee1is That's called holding back. He just wasn't holding back as much as Ichigo was. Uryuu flatly stated this at the end. Heck, the fact that Renji was still alive and able to keep himself upright is proof that Uryuu was holding back on his supposed kill shot. Even Renji calling Uryuu "Quincy" was his attempt to emotionally distance himself from the fight.

@MrGksarathy Dude holding back means not to use some of your most powerful arsenal, that's holding back. 2 people can fight without trying to kill each other but without even trying to hold back. Naruto vs sasuke at the end, Naruto was clearly not holding back but we know for sure he had no killing intention. Lol be serious, even uryu said kill and not hold back like he said with ichigo which should have been clear for you that, there's a difference between those words. Renji using zaga teppō on base uryu, apply to you like someone who was holding back? 🤨🤨🤨 Look at all this fight, renji was clearly not holding back at all, he just unconsciously not to try to kill uryu. The only one who was holding back here is uryu. Not using his most powerful arsenal which is schrift, using only basic arrows and licht regen just once against bankai renji is clearly an indication of holding back, against ichigo he did better in base .

This episode was just purely amazing throughout!! The scene with everybody getting sniped was like a throwback to the 1. invasion, where familiar faces got killed indiscriminately. Renji vs. Uryu was so perfect! Really wondering if Uryu's "true motivations" really are the same as in the manga, or if he is going to be convinced to switch sides by someone.. I think its also easy to forget that while Renji might be weaker than Ichigo, he has like decades of military experience on him. He will, for example, not be put out by suddenly having to fight a former comrade in battle like Ichigo was. Even though he too hesitated to kill Uryu in the end

Renji got quite a strong showing even if victory was not his outcome. And Uryu's winning streak continues as he gets to shine brightly in the phase. Barro snipping away at the Shinigami reminds of the intro to Commandos Strike Force, Hawkins just firing away.

Also, I know his Zanpakuto is based on the Nue of Japanese Folklore, but the shedding ability and making clones of Hihio seems like a hint of Sun Wukong is mixed in there as well as he could make clones of himself with his plucked out hair
