The only way Aizen knowing Kisuke makes any sense to me is if Kisuke lived somewhere else before entering the Shihōin Mansion. Like if they were both from the Rukongai. Aizen having lived in the Shihōin Mansion just raises so many questions that I can’t yet rationalize it with the story we’ve been presented.

Yeah i believe both of them met even before although, surprisingly, maybe aizen didnt know his name, possibly just appearance or an action that happened, not identity. Although i am a believer of the theories that say he is either the literal will of the soul king or his literal reiatsu personified (just like how that quincy was the brain) and "lack of sousuke's background" is actually a hint, but thats more just me Regarding handsome ranking... aizen is my lord 😅😅 although.... szayelaporro did surprise me

I think it's more believable that Aizen knew of Urahara. I might be misremembering but I think during their confrontation in TBTP, Aizen mentioned Kisuke had a reputation.

I think Kubo meant that Aizen knew *about* Kisuke, not that he knew him personally. Maybe he invented something or did/said something interesting that Aizen heard and put him on his mental list of people to pay attention to.

Aizen knowing "about" Kisuke doesn't mean he "knew" Kisuke or that they'd ever "met". Aizen also "knew about" Yhwach before they ever met... Knowledge is Aizen's whole thing afterall.

Aizen clearly considered Urahara a kindred spirit, they had so much in common, Aizen truly respects Urahara hence why when he is being sealed he finally let himself go to rage because he cannot believe that someone so intelligent and talented like Urahara accepts the world as he is instead of fighting to change it like he is doing. That Aizen's speech is filled with respect and disappointment. In my opinion it's very similar, even if very different, to Kenpachi and Ichigo confrontation when Ichigo says "What is wrong with you!? How can you love to fight so much!?" and he replies "What is wrong with me? What is wrong with you!? You are so strong, why don't you love fightning!?"

if i had to guess, aizen might have observed kisuke from an early stage, hoping he would join him in turning against the soul society. after some time aizen must have realised this wouldn't come to fruition and was frustrated with how such a brilliant mind could still conform to the soul king. this probably incited the rivalry or something idk

@@azashiro6 No I don't think he realised it back then, after all, if I recall the info revealed in CFYOW, initially the purpose to create the Hogyoku for Uraraha was to be able to break the boundaries between Shinigami and Hollow to create a potential substitute for the Soul King. My guess is that Aizen realised that they were different when Urahara chose not to use it and sealed it away.

I think by high level he's talking about the power of the individuals it's something I noticed as well. When used in bulk Aushwalan seemed to not affect the more powerful quincy as much as the weaker ones. Bazz B was a candidate for the royal gaurd so it makes sense he can tank it. When used a more concentrated level it makes sense Jugram the grandmaster can tank Aushwalan while Gerard was instantly vaporized.

There is something quite important Kubo never explored. Aizen knew Urahara was aware of the Soul King actual conditions, that's one of the reason why he got so angry at him while he was being sealed. How they both knew about it? Maybe that's the situation in which he came to know about Urahara.

2:00 It makes sense that Aizen knew of Kisuke that long ago, even if that knowledge only went one way. As he was being sealed, the one thing on Aizens mind was: Urahara Kisuke. Like he had expected Kisuke to be a sympathethic mind. Hoped for it? Like Kisuke maybe was his hero at some point? Now that I think about it, this was exactly the same reaction as Ginjo when Ichigo would not join him. They had the same kind of "mutual understanding of circumstances, opposite conclusions, fighting each other with killing intent."

The way I see it, Aizen was conscious of his own power and loneliness very early, and he saw Kisuke in his youth and saw the same thing, yet avoided him. He instinctively knew the two were similar and perhaps kept an eye open just in case. His suspicions happened to be confirmed during TBTP. The two never had to interact. Aizen simply witnessed him during their youths

Aizen probably knew about Kisuke before Kisuke knew about Aizen but his interest in Kisuke didn't peak until turn back the pendulum. Kisuke had a eye for science before becoming a captain so it wouldn't be surprising if Aizen came across some of his early work and actually found it somewhat interesting.

My theory on the reason jugram died from the Auswahlen was always that it wasn’t from the Auswahlen itself but from Uryus wounds, since I always thought that since Jugram was weakened, his body probably couldn’t endure the wounds for a very long time and it eventually killed him. If it weren’t from Uryus wounds, I’m sure he would have lived like Bazz-B.

no he transferred all his wounds to uryu , it was a back and forth and uryu basically lost that fight until ywach aushawalen hashwalth and then he said "I'm going to die just transferred your wounds onto me " that's why you see tom post the panel of him saying what he said

The Auswählen explanation does answer one question though. Why it is Askin was allowed to join the Schutzstaffel. Those with the strongest shrifts with probably one other factor makes them special. Also the Gerard part I think is different because it was used to empower Yhwach at an even higher point compared to just awakening his powers and theirs.

The idea that Aizen and Kisuke knew each other before Kisuke even knew Yoruichi sounds suspect but it would strangely make sense given their deep rivalry and two sides of the same coin theme. A rivalry can go further than a friendship but only one is productive, the other is destructive. In either case more clarification is needed, it will give their rivalry quite a new meaning that's for sure.

Regarding Auswahlen I think Kubo tried explaining Yhwach's logic for taking powers at that time. However it's likely that Yhwach can take whatever he needs without being bound by that first logic, and so the next time, when he needed more power, he took everything Gerard had left which was probably a lot given he was the heart of the soul king, and so from Haschwalth he didn't need to take that much. Basically there are different types of consequences based on how much power Yhawch needs to take back and he probably chooses how much he wants to take from each soul he reaches with the light.

I think that Aizen knows about Urahara because of some connection that Urahara had with Senjumaru. In a previous Klub Outside we learned that Senjumaru was aquainted with Kisuke and Mayuri because they were in some sort of unofficial organization which she was the leader of. Aizen might also have been in that organization or been spying on it, possibly being older than Urahara and Yoruichi.

11:06 Unfortunately this contradicts what Yoruichi said to Ichigo during his Bankai training since the underground bunker they used in the Soul Society was said by her to be a secret place where she and Urahara played in when they were kids. So unless Aizen somehow knew Kisuke when he was a toddler I don’t know how he could know of him before involving himself with Yoruichi.

Not necessarily, age in Bleach is a bit ambiguous. From Yoruichi's point of view I'm sure that both Toshiro and Ichigo can be considered kids despite their difference in age. For all we know, she could have been referring to the time they were 12 years old or 50 years old. Both of which would be considered young in Shinigami terms.

So for the Aizen question given how Kubo's phrasing it could be a one sided knowledge. As in Aizen knew of Urahara but Urahara didn't know Aizen And as for the second I imagine it's a sliding scale for who gets targeted. The physically older and weaker you are the quicker you're targeted and the younger and higher your individual strength is the later. I don't think it's specifically their shrifts playing a part in resisting but their own idividual strength. Sure the flame shrift might not be the strongest shrift itself but Bazz B is certainly one of the stronger base quicies.

I find it so funny that Kubo doesn't consider Yumichika one of the most handsome characters. His entire character and theme is based around beauty and vanity but this is like a back-handed way of Kubo saying "well, he thinks he's a lot prettier than he actually is."

Everything you take issue with regarding Uarahara and Aizen is easily explained. First, I don't see ANY animosity toward Urahara by Aizen until the final battle when Urahara declares support for the Soul King; that's when Aizen flips out. They just knew each other at Soul Reaper Academy, and the Shihoen Clan took Urahara and Tessai in when they graduated in order to prepare them for the Stealth Force and Kido Corps respectively; Aizen joined the Gotei 13 directly upon graduation and became Lieutenant after demonstrating his skill and locking all the other Lieutenants into Kyoka Suigetsu. Aizen had been observing Urahara to figure him out, and did: Aizen likely snuck into Uarahara's proficiency exam and knew what his Bankai could do. This is also demonstrated by the fact Urahara doesn't use his Bankai on Aizen; Kansen Saimen works on Zanpakuto Spirits. This is further proven by the fact that Yahicru is under the effects of Kyoka Suigetsu.

Sometimes I feel like Kubo actually has answers and then other times I feel like he didn't actually think far enough ahead to have an answer Like I don't see a point in gate keeping info about Aizen and Kiskes Origins because the series is done and only Kiske would be relevant if the Hell arc becomes an arc and if it's not gate keeping he probably just didn't plan anything for those two backstory wise (For Aizen at least) If we do actually get their origins one day though, I would hope for some recognition by some powerful shinigami force of how much Reiatsu Aizen has as a child like how Toshiro's was mentioned by Rangiku and I feel like it would be a mirrored backstory between the two showing the differing ways they got into science and how their ideals changed as they grew up but as for how they knew each other I don't think it's anything crazy they probably just randomly met one day because from what Kubo said he didn't explicitly mention it Aizen knew about Kiske or if he actually met him when he was very young I'm in favor of him just knowing about him

In my opinion, I don't think any of the sternritter who hit by the Auswhälen are dead. I think Meninas and Candice will likely not appear again until the end of Cour 4, same with Nanana, as we know those 3 are basically enslaved by Mayuri. Robert, on the other hand, is more confusing. The fact that they have gone out of their way to not show him dead in any capacity makes me think there is a chance he could show up again before the soul reapers go to the royal palace. I think he likely will still be killed, but maybe he tries to do one last act of honor to gain Yhwachs admiration.

So about Aizen and Urahara I know people I’ve never meet people that have never meet me or know of me, do I now everything about then no but I know enough to know the kind of person they are at their core. Another interesting thing about smart people almost 100% of them tend to be not “”normal””, like most people with a Genius level IQ tend to be dyslexic and a lot of then tend to have problems socialising, the tardiness we see from Urahara is something else you see from super smart people as their mind is elsewhere so he forgets things that aren’t as important.

Nothing compares to Bleach. Not one anime. Maybe One Piece, but I've watched 1/5 of it and can't say it's better or worse yet. But Bleach runs for such a long time, has some of the most epic battles and powers in shonen, probably the smartest character ever who planned out everything and yet we don't even fcking know his past, his main power (bankai) and a lot more... We don't know who the fck is the Soul King and how he came to be. The 5th Noble House, the Pit that is Hell, who rules over it and how will that arc go. Also, the original gotei 13 characters are yet to be revealed fully... People are always on OP and ODA's D, like the Void century, The Will Of D, Raftel, Imu, Celestials... But we don't realize that Bleach is such a treasure and it sitll hasn't revealed half of its story and most important characters.

I personally always assumed Aizen and Urahara had history prior to TBTP, mostly because both of them seemed privy to secrets of the Royal Palace very few others are and it only makes sense that two men with similar intellects and interests would have been aware of each other before this. That, and I feel mucb of their dialogue only really makes sense if they had history beyond Urahara's Captain initiation. There's so much implied personal baggage IMO.

It could be something as simple as a brief meeting between them with Aizen being able to pick up on Kisuke's true nature but didn't think much about it until Kisuke joined the gotei 13

Prior to listening to this video, I had always assumed that Juha stole the of the quincies rather than their reistu or life force (which is debatable in certain cases such as Robert Acutone and Gerald). I had based my hypothesis on the way the medallion worked. When you think about it, the medallion are pretty much a water down, toned down version of Auswahlen performed on Shinigamis rather than Quincy. It steals the bankai of a shinigami without taking away their life force or reitsu but rather the ingrained into their souls... Also, the quincies have been portrayed as the only ones capable of absorbing reistsu. Juha has demonstrated this ability, Quirge has demonstrated that ability, Ishida have demonstrated this ability through his Letz Stil (he aborbed the reistsu of the sereitei), and I wonder if to a certain extant Final Getsuga Tensho Ichigo was not another case of display of quincy power mixed with other races. His body had all reistu in order to gain tremendous physical prowess and he was able released all of it all at once through the mugetsu which resuslted to him loosing his powers. The event I just described mirrors Ishida's use of the Letzt Stil. Anyway, even though i seem to be linked multiple concept, i doubt kubo would go to such lenght. He doesnt really seem to care but had it been Togashi (the author of HxH) maybe this much depth and detail would have been expected

I believe(personal theory) kubo knew how exactly his own story would turn out, he didn’t take an major turns in his series, he didn’t reveal too much, he also didn’t write his full story or keep you at a point where your begging for it weekly, he had a vision in mind but after watching other authors, he didn’t want to do the exact t same thing so I believe kubo has had this whole universe with lots of things from expanded universes and light novels that were meant to be included but instead of him putting it into the actual story he held off and basically made all fans wanting more extremely badly and now that he is incorporated into the making of tybw we are getting a lot of answer kubo would’ve liked to have given us at the time of the tybw being published but he held off, hence kubo making a Q&A page to answer our endless questions but now tybw is flushing out our questions, really makes me think about what kubo had planned for us from chapter 1 about HELL, because I still believe the hell butterflies can add to this theory🤔🤔🤔

Regarding the Quincy terminology names, during Mayuri vs Pernida, Mayuri speculates that the Wandenreich Quincies might have a different (presumably German) name for Hirenkyaku, and it's likely the same applies to Ransotengai and Ginto.

Well, I think that’s the thing about Aizen in general: he was always overlooked before he revealed his true self to the Gotei in the Soul Society Arc. I think we have to accept that it’s definitely possible that Aizen was involved with a bunch of events and that, if we get more content past TYBW/Breaths from Hell, his past could be revealed in full. I don’t think the fandom would be ready to have Aizen’s origins revealed, even if they say they want it as it removes the mystery behind him.

Urahara probably served under the shihoin family at some point possibly at the same time as aizen but served different purposes thus never came into contact with one another. It's not uncommon for royal households to keep workers from socializing with one another and keep them busy aswell as keeping them confined to specific Areas of the household. that could explain why aizen knew of him but didn't know him personally. As for aizen he probably went unnoticed by kisuke. Urahara was probably known for his "just go with it" vibe coupled with his prodical capability and really it probably gave him a higher standing amongst the household members themselves. That being said aizen may have learned these things about urahara and wondered why someone like him would subject himself to someone elses rule and be okay with it. This could have stuck with him thus explaining his outburst at urahara after his defeat in karakura town. As for kisuke knowing aizen before his involvement with yuroichi it was probably along similar lines. While kisuke grew up in the household he probably got to meet yuroichi but didn't get to really know her to personally as she was royalty. Usually commonors are forbidden from even approaching those of royal status however kisuke was probably a special case. Its most likely that after them being introduced they had not interacted for quite some time until after kisuke formed some kind of familiarity with aizen. Only then did kisuke and yuroichi manage to form a real bond.

For Urahara and Aizen, Aizen knew of him doesn't mean he knows him. Perhaps Urahara had a parent that caught Aizen's eye and he decided to just keep tabs on them for instance. For Auswahlen, when it says "weakened" I think it means sick or crippled, not injured. That's why Uryu's sick mother was in a coma while Masaki was mostly fine. But also I'll say that Kubo says they had a "resistance" to it, so Yhwach might just not have wanted to get through that resistance if it was more work, so he took more for easier targets. Bazz B looks young and has a Schrift that is strong so why bother fighting him for power when you can more easily just kill Robert for the extra?

I do think that the reason the Shihouin clan took Kisuke in, is for the same reason Aizen knows him. The Shihouin clan are in charge of the treasure tools, so i'm sure that Kisuke made something to pick their interest, and of course Aizen's too.

Honestly, I can see Urahara's exploits making the rounds during his Academy days. Perhaps about he looks like a slacker, but has incredible grades. Meanwhile, Aizen is dutiful, charismatic and very well-put together, but strangely enough they have similar grades. Similar to L and Light during their college entrance ceremony in Death Note. I could see Aizen peering at the trope-y "Let's put everyone's grades in the school hallway for maximum social pressure" and noticing Urahara's name always beside his, peeking his interest, but due to circumstances, the two never met, especially as Urahara was then taken in by the illustrious Shion'in family.

Honestly it makes sense aizen would know him. He was clearly observing shinigami which is how he would of found Gin. That said knowing him doesn't mean they met or interacted. My guess is Aizen saw him but whether out of ego or feeling he wouldn't align with his goals he just didn't see him as a potential ally.

Maybe for the first one this could be my interpretation of kubo’s words. When he says “before getting involved with Yoruichi” we automatically assume the days pre the mansion. But it is referring to kisuke in the period of time of the mansion and starting up in the second division. When him and yoruichi were up to building the foundation of what kisuke wanted to set out to do in the soul society. So again it could be the academy days or maybe something.

I absolutely love the idea of the quincy diaspora having different names for techniques. It's something that's happened in the real world, after all. Any English speakers will be familiar with the very slight difference in vocab found in the varieties if English spoken in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland and so on: Lift, Elevator, rubbish, trash, car park, parking lot. Etc. In some cases, when X group moves to another place, they borrow words and grammar from the culture they now live side by side with. When speakers of Welsh moved to Argentina, they borrowed words from Spanish and the Indigenous languages they came in contact with- words not used by the over 700,000 Welsh speakers in Wales. Iirc, in the endangered variety of German spoken in Texas, they use a different word for airplane/aeroplane, than they do in Germany. So, with many quincy moving from the world of the living to the shadows of the soul society, it makes sense that they'd borrow Japanese terminology and words- heck, some of the quinces born in the shadows of the soul society might even be bilingual, thus giving us a reason for the shinigami and quincy being able to , y'know, communicate.

I do think the moment that Aizen stated that Kisuke was the man he was hoping he was, does open up the idea that he had known about him for some time, and was pleased to see that his hunch regarding Urahara was correct. Again, if we get a Kisuke flashback, maybe we will see how Aizen knew of him? But, I would prefer it if we did not get a in-depth flashback for Aizen, so I hope that it would only be a small moment. As for the handsome men answer, it is very logical that Jugram is on that list. I did always feel like Kubo designed him to be very conventionally attractive.

I think it's possible Urahara started creating things around SS before he met Yoruichi, and perhaps one of his earliest inventions sparked Aizen's interest. The answer may have meant Aizen knew ABOUT Urahara before, not that they met before. Of course, if someone who knows Japanese could read the answer in its original language and see if the word Kubo chose could also be interpreted as knew about and not known (in the physical sense), then please do so!

i've been thinking, what if auswahlen is connected to the almighty ability? and the quincies was not robbed of their spiritual pressure, nor reishi, nor ability, nor vitality? but instead, yhwach robbed them of their future? the reason why masaki and katagiri didnt die outright is because they are left with little "future" or life span. same on bazz b and other sternritters. meanwhile, robert died on the spot because he is old and has little life span left. but since the "future" is a thing that is about to happen, a person can resist auswahlen if their resolve is strong to change their "future", the reason why other sternritters survive with just their holy forms being stolen. this would solidify the reason why yhwach immediately destroy ichigo's bankai because it can shatter fate; which is a predetermined future
